Powder Coating tow hooks is the way to go

After considering the Red Rattle can I opt’d to have my tow hooks Powder Coated and clearly the way to go on your Ranger Raptor!

Easy removal of the skid plate and tow hook bracket by using a 15mm socket. Next, you’ll need an 8mm screw which holds the Radiator shroud in place. Important: You will NOT be able to drive the vehicle while waiting for the return of the brackets, as

the Intercooler is supported by brackets.

Unfortunately, no…. the bracket holds the intercooler in place.

There is a large bracket on the inboard side of the tow hooks that support the intercooler. Without the tow hooks there are no brackets so the intercooler will hang an inch or 2 lower than normal. I drove my truck to the store a few miles round trip without the tow hooks. But I wouldn't recommend going too far or traveling on rough roads.

Prismatic powders Code Orange, I removed, blasted & a coworker sprayed & baked them while I waited. I really think that they should come from the factory like this. Spraying & baking them was the easy part, blasting them was a challenge though with so many different surfaces to get cleaned to bare metal but definitely worth it. I really want to do the brake calipers & brackets, I think it would look good with them being Code Orange.

No the tow hooks in the back are welded to a bar that’s secured by the tow hitch and other mounts

They look very nice, but a FYI for everybody, if you actually use them to recover a stuck truck, the powder coating “may” chip off.… it is mostly about proper metal prep and application. Once it starts to fail, it can be really hard to recoat. You can’t just spray some paint on top.

Since most owners will never actually use them, this doesn’t matter too much. If you think you will use them, don’t powder coat.

Added the Blue Tow hook covers from Hook Products. These are for the F-150 but worked just fine on my Ranger Raptor.

Are there aftermarket people making these yet? Ford had them..both different part no.s list for 197.70 parts guy said wait they will come down..lol?
