The website says 3yr/36k mile warranty. Is that a warranty on the tune itself, or is that saying your factory powertrain warranty is reduced by installing this?

Also note, it says premium fuel is required. The base tune only recommends premium fuel. I wonder if we'll be able to flash between the base and performance tunes at will. I don't need all that power on my daily commute.

You aren't getting full power on your stock tune by running 87. It's ~30 cents/gallon more or $6/tank. At 16mpg, it's only an extra 1.875c/mile for 91/93. At 12,000 miles per year, it's only an extra $225 in gas.

If we up that to 60cents/gallon, it's only $450 a year.

For me, it's worth it. It's also habit as my previous car (Golf R) took premium as well as my bike.
The tune requires 91 Octane to keep the warranty valid

I'm assuming this is only applicable to North American RRaptors.

Here in eu stock RR is 292 HP so I can't imagine they would bypass the euro regulations with this upgrade...

Anyone know for sure?
The tune is for the 3.0 Twin Turbo engine

I went to the dealership where I purchased my RRaptor from today and they looked at me like I had 3 heads when I asked if they could purchase and install this. Told me they could not even order it nor install it because they are not a Ford Performance dealership and that I would have to call around to find one. Said they weren’t even sure if one existed in the entire state of NC. Their explanation was that the interface on the computer they use is completely different than the Ford Performance software. Not sure why it would be difficult to plug this up but that’s what I was told.
...if damage does occur within the five-year, 60k-mile period that isn’t related to the calibration, then it will be covered under warranty, but we must also consider one other tiny detail – the start date of the Ford Performance powertrain warranty is the vehicle’s original “in-service” date, or the day the vehicle was purchased – not the day the tune is installed, which means that the proverbial clock is already ticking. As is usually the case, the calibration must also be installed by a Ford dealer or ASE/Red Seal certified technician for warranty coverage to apply as well.

Does anyone know if there is a way to deactivate the tune at certain times if you don’t want it running without uninstalling? Can’t think of why I wouldn’t want it, but just wondering.

OMG. Like I would make it up. Too much drama on these forums. I’m not saying anything. This is directly from a guy I spoke with on the phone from Ford performance. I don’t recall the guys name. He seemed like he has been there for a long time and was involved with the tune. He even mentioned flashing it back to stock after three years if you want to minimize risk but as may know the ECU keeps data on flashes so they would pick it up if there was some kind of catastrophic failure. How can I show you a conversation over the phone? I called the number on their website today. Call them yourself man. If you have any experience with aftermarket tunes, then you would know that the warranty can be voided. If they believe any vehicle modification results in damage, they can and will void the warranty. Simple as that. This tune makes the truck no longer stock. Ford Performance is a division of Ford but it doesn’t fall under the factory warranty which is why they back up any damage for the first 3 years/36k only. I guess it’s not unlike some other companies like Dinan with Bmw. Their tunes are backed up by
Dinan’s warranty if BMW feels a warranty claim is due to excess wear and tear from their tune.
As Ford Truck Enthusiasts has discovered, those that purchase this Ford Raptor performance calibration could essentially be reducing the duration of their factory powertrain warranty, which starts out at five years and 60,000 miles. This is because if the automaker determines that damage to the engine has occurred as a result of the calibration – and the vehicle has already passed the three-year, 36,000-mile mark – it won’t be covered under that warranty.

Of course, if damage does occur within the five-year, 60k-mile period that isn’t related to the calibration, then it will be covered under warranty, but we must also consider one other tiny detail – the start date of the Ford Performance powertrain warranty is the vehicle’s original “in-service” date, or the day the vehicle was purchased – not the day the tune is installed, which means that the proverbial clock is already ticking. I saw in print that the tune is CARB approved, just need to find a shop that: " As is usually the case, the calibration must also be installed by a Ford dealer or ASE/Red Seal certified technician for warranty coverage to apply as well."
In what “print”? Care to share the source. I have a dealer that will do it if it’s CARB approved (California Air Resource Board). The listing states that it is Not approved in California and only 49 state legal.

Dudes some old boomer who can't take an L, it's not a bit. Any and all arguments lead back to somehow him being ex-military and a "patriot". Better to just let it be after the first few rounds.
It has nothing to do with being a vet or a boomer, I happen to be both. It has everything to do with being a keyboard warrior/troll. Like always, don't feed the trolls and don't enable the keyboard warriors with ammo.

Looking for it now, as soon as I find it I'll post it.
