Can someone explain why you need to cut the Rivets out to install this, and why the need to be replaced with the brace in place?

has any aftermarket come up with an easier solution yet? i saw egr has them, but they don’t look that stout.

Simply, the fender liner needs to be moved out of the way to get to where you’d install the brace, which requires removal of the rivet(s). The brace provides no replacement for what the rivet provides the fender liner (they just happen to be in the same area). No different than opening your hood to change a filter
