you have to order the Ford "official" cap (an overpriced rebranded LEER) to get the complimentary j-braces.

Yep, they will install for free (if you buy a ford-branded leer topper) and send you reimbursement for $169 toward the braces themselves. Definitely does not make up for the overpriced topper.
This program covers the installation cost of ONLY the load box reinforcement bracket kit, and a $169 customer refund to offset the cost of the kit itself.
