Is this tune any different than the Livernois, or they all pretty much the same?

So only for a limited/one time deal on a Lightning and not at all on an F-150?
I did my research, you are welcome to do yours. I see F150s with step discounts too.

As for a limited time, who knows?! Maybe, Maybe there will be even better deals.

Anyone have an idea of what the Dealer would be charging to do the install?

My guess would be an hour of labor
So figuring the cost $675 + tx is approx $710 and then i'm guessing a base rate of $150 labor so $860 then the hit on the MPG's which aren't that good to begin with is quite a pricey package.
Not sure if $19 per HP is a deal or not when it comes to tuners.

Well it’s the only tune available right now.

Ok, Lightning Lariat equipped like mine $78k. Subtract $20k rebate.
Someone posted on Reddit they got a Lariat for 49215 this year. 580 hp.

different states have better rebates than others.

I know in IL there’s going be another 4 k rebate for electric cars in January, but who knows if the other rebates will still be available.

You like your 50k Lariat fully loaded, that’s great.

I like my 0 optioned Stx for 32k.

I'm glad you like your 2.3 and feel it's the right engine for you. Seriously.

I'm not worried about the belt in oil. With the vehicles I've maintained over the years I always do a major service myself around 100,000 including replacing the water pump, thermostat, hoses, etc. With my current i6 diesel it requires a fair amount of disassembly of the front end, but a day or weekend's worth of work every 100,000 to me isn't bad as long as the vehicle is reliable. I'll replace the oil pump belt every 100,000 (or more often if data indicates it's wise to do so)

And I do agree that there's virtue in simplicity,

Whoa there cowboy! I mean it’s not a Chevy!

The 2.7 is a great motor, the F150 guys love it. I think the 5.0 has a rubber belt too. You might get hate mail if you dis the 5.0. lol

If the 2.7 was available in 2wd on the STX I think I would have got it.

What sets the Ranger above all the rest is the 10 speed and 3.73 gears no matter what motor is in front.

It's a Kevlar reinforced composite belt designed to run submerged in oil. The GM 3.0 Duramax uses the same setup.
There is one video of a tear-down showing the belt deteriorating. Everyone inserts it into every thread about the belt driven oil pump. What they fail to acknowledge is that 2.7 example was used and abused, run out of oil, overheated and suffered catastrophic bearing failure as a result. The belt was still doing it's job but was compromised due to lack of oil and excessive heat damage.
And now we have a video of a mechanic tugging on the belt and proclaiming it to be a stupid idea.
Internet experts with zero manufacturing or materials knowledge will resort to calling things stupid when they have zero qualifications to back it up.
Kind of like when the first composite intake manifolds were introduced. That created quite an uproar among the self proclaimed experts. Now virtually all vehicles use them.

Hmm. How does lack of oil cause a Rubber Kevlar belt to deteriorate? Do they require oil? You see him strum that little belt like as guitar string. Oh man, Ford cheaped out on that one. Seen the nice stout chain in the 2.3? Older design, better engineering. So nice. : )
Bottom line, it's a "Shotty" part, no self respecting engineer who cared about longevity would of put it there instead of a chain. Makes me want to throw up. The Oil pum, no less. Can't wait for the tune! Give me 12 more HP than the V6TT!
