After digging through the parts catalog on Tasca Ford, I beleive ive found the part number for the top glove box assembly on a Lariat Ranger (N1WZ-2606202-LA). Looking at the diagram for the Ranger instrument panel, it appears every model shares the same shell and that there is a void behind the cover on the XLT and XL models. It's my educated guess that the top glove box assembly from a Lariat could be swapped into a XLT or XL without modification. Anyone done this yet to confirm or deny before I go ahead and be a guinea pig?

Where is passenger airbag located in that area?
It's in the upper dash behind where the upper storage area is. I wondered the same thing and found out by watching a crash test video of the Ranger.

Also, the 6G Ranger has knee air bags. Probably contributes to the better safety rating than Chevy Colorado in frontal.
