Dont you still need the key to start the truck once youre in it? I dont understand the keypad if you have the key on you. This is a good reason why people prefer to buy the keypad accessory and not rely on the app to unlock your doors in a pinch. The app sucks pretty bad.
I'd imagine the best modern use case is the ability to leave your keys and stuff in a locked vehicle without having to carry your keys with you (vehicle access only).Dont you still need the key to start the truck once youre in it? I dont understand the keypad if you have the key on you.
Yes, to start the truck you do.Dont you still need the key to start the truck once youre in it? I dont understand the keypad if you have the key on you.
Fair enough. I usually keep my keys in a ziplock bag if I do something outdoorsy. Too paranoid Ill get them locked in by accident. When I'm camping/hiking/swimming I lock the keys in the truck so I don't risk losing them. If I relied on the app to unlock my doors, there could easily be instances where the app fails to unlock the doors and I'd be unable to retrieve my keys. With the keypad, I avoid that issue.
I use my keypad anytime my wife is with me and has her purse. she leaves purse in truck sometimes and then when i try to lock by pressing on the handle it honks and fails to lock because it detects her key. then I use the keypad to lock. The nice thing about the Ranger though is I can still pull out my Fob and it'll lock with that even with the second key still inside. But to me the keypad is easier.we always had to hide keys on the truck when we were surfing. i like too versus the app but i use the app for remote starting
