Other threads said it was the digit before the * for enhanced engine noise. Could it be the * is a digit for noise cancelling and the digit before is for enhanced engine noise? Wish there was a definitive answer here before I homebrew a mess.
You might be correct, been ages since I changed on my truck. Complete spreadsheet is at

Software ESE

Pretty clear it has, just read through the prior posts.
Read it several times. There are posts claiming there is. Others claiming there is not. I have not found a final verified answer, nor a verified forescan solution.. Maybe I'm just thick..

Can you give us the instructions? A few things suggested earlier in this thread, can you confirm exactly what worked?
First, always backup / save your current / factory settings then compare with the spreadsheet (screenshot below) and reduce by one the * digit to disable.
eg.
My as built ACM, 727-01-01 was A8FF D4FE 10B9 meaning software ESE was enabled
I changed this to A8FF D4FE 00B9 to disable it.

Easy way to figure it out - drive the truck with the amp unplugged. Only the tweeters, if I recall, are powered by the main audio module. I doubt they produce much engine noise.

I'm more curious about noise cancelation. How well does that work in our trucks? Anyone turn it off?

Sorry if this was asked but in the sales web page for RR says this sound change allows things like quiet starts early morning or late night so not to bother neighbors or bitchy wife 😂. If this is the case why would they bother with the speakers inside?
my RR is in order so can’t try, but had anyone put a db meter outside to hear the difference?

This refers to the exhaust mode. On startup, it usually defaults to Normal which can be a bit loud with cold starts. With Quiet Start enabled, the exhaust will default to Quiet mode during the times specified. This is all set up on the multifunction screen under vehicle settings.

Gotcha. I misunderstood. So it can make outside exhaust quiet or louder. Just trying to figure out why they would pump in fake sound if the RR has its own

Just remember that in quiet start, the first 20 seconds, the exhaust valves still open and make you smile. Its a good way to know your truck started when your still in the house. My Ranger Raptor has no exhaust sound from the speakers.
