Thanks to the heads-up by @bdallas9 I was able to get in on the pre-order of the new TackForm TRAXX dash mount system and unlike a lot of other pre-orders, it actually arrived early. I chose the Slim Track option and picked up a mag mount for a radar detector initially with one of their blue anodized thumb knobs.

The parts all came well packaged and nicely organized (and did I mention early). They amazingly include almost everything you need to install other than a small drill and a Phillips screwdriver. I was especially impressed that the mount is entirely aluminum, including the formed "wings" which I really expected to be plastic.

The end result is super clean and seems very sturdy. So far I only have my trailer TPMS display mounted and I am going to be getting a different arm setup to reposition it better along with a GoPro mount just because.

Well done my friend! I’ve sent the link to your video to TackForm! They might reach out to say thanks. Have a great summer.

Are you referring to the heads of the bolts being seemingly too large to fit in the recesses? It's a very tight fit, but when I actually tightened the bolts down they drew themselves down into the recess and I was able to slide a ball mount all the way across the track. Not ideal, but in the end it functions as desired.

Yeah, if I could give you guys any advice. You have to screw those 7 mm bolts all the way down until they bottom them out don’t over tighten. And then you’ll feel that base bracket secure. And then you’ll have to add the two screws on the back for extra stability. Make sure you make those holes nice and small so that screw has something to bite into. And then you’re off running it’s an absolutely simple, simple install and if you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Can you comment on the (red) accent color on the knobs matching the interior of the raptor?

Great video! Do you have a link to everything you bought for your kit? Didn't see one on your YT videos, but I did like and subscribed!

I too installed the base in my Raptor last night. The install is straight forward. I also had an issue with the hardware to attach the rail to the base. Even with the indents, the heads still seem to poke up a little too much as I was trying to re-use the 67-Design ball mounts and I was not able to slide them freely across the rail. I did order new mounting balls from Trackform thinking it may be a design difference between the 2 companies.

But I was still going to notify them today about my concern about the bolt heads being too tall and potentially causing issues sliding the ball mounts down the rail.

To my surprise, I did get the following message from Trackform overnight. So I think some others who have ordered the same kit may have mentioned it to them and they are being very proactive about it. Here is the content of their message:

"Thanks for your recent order of our new Ranger TR39 kit. We’re really excited about this product and appreciate you being one of the first to try it out!

We’ve discovered a potential hardware issue that may affect some kits that have gone out. While we’re still digging into the details, we’ve decided to send an updated part to everyone just to be safe.

There’s nothing you need to do. We’ll ship the fix automatically as soon as it’s ready and follow up with tracking.

We’re very sorry for the hassle and appreciate your patience while we sort it out. If you have any questions, just let us know."

Yea i got a couple replies from them about shipping out new hardware. One reply was exactly the same as yours.

I appreciate them sending out new hardware and looking forward to completing the install.

The mount and slim rail: TR39
I'm using their Radar Detector 20mm ball mag mount for the brake TPMS: MG3-20
A slim track 20mm ball: STB-20
Pictured is the 2" Duralock 20mm arm: AR20-1030
I'm replacing the above arm with the 3.5" version: AR20-2070

The arm pages link to the colored accent parts that are appropriate.

@SurfRanger & @JR007 I too got the email overnight about the potential hardware issue. As I said, I was able to get mine to tighten down and draw down into the rail recesses, but it was definitely a tighter fit than it should have been. Glad to see they're looking into it but I honestly probably won't plan to change mine out since it is functioning as expected.

@JR007 that's interesting that the 67-Design stuff had issues, it may be they use a slightly taller t-nut and it just doesn't quite clear. The Tackform one was able to slide the full length in mine.

@bdallas9 they included a drill bit and guide bushing with the kit that seemed appropriately sized for the self-tapper screws. Definitely don't want to overtighten them though in the dash plastic. It truly is a simple install, just have to be a little careful with the drill not to scratch anything.

Should be this week. They were a week or so behind the Traxx.

yeah it’s kind of close. But it’s anodized. So that color is a little brighter. I love it.
