Hello all,

I figured I'd start a new thread as I took photos of the installation itself, as a little modifying of the adapter was required. That said- the adapter found here, which is listed as up to the MY23 does indeed work on the MY24's and up. You just need to cut a little plastic on the plug for it to fit, but the pinout itself is correct. The kit comes with both the 3 and 5 pin adapters; you'll be using the 5 pin.

The original thread concerning the Dongar

Here's the install-

This is the larger "main" piece of trim, showing where the clips that hold it in are. Two in the front, two in the back.

Closeup of the passenger side tabs. I pulled primarily from the driver side first, then down (towards the ground) and away on the passenger side. It took a little convincing, but with a decent pull it popped off.

Pin out of the plug. The dongar adapter's plastic guide is in the middle, not offset like below, so I took some snips and cut it flush down.

Cut to fit. I modified both ends of the Dongar harness, not the truck.

I melted a small hole on the indention you can see for the wire to come out and keep a more "oem" feel/look.

Its a ridiculously snug fit in there with all the plastic closed up, but, I was able to get the whole Dongar harness tucked away in there and just have a USB-C cable running out of the hole, with a little two sided foam tape to keep the cord snug.

And there ya go. Other than cutting that little hole in the side of the plastic, and trimming the Dongar adapter to fit, it was straightforward. I had more trouble messing with the plastic trim fitting than I did the install.

I also did the auto start/stop disabler thing by the 4D folks and that plug was a pita to get out. But now I don't have to push a button each time I start the truck, so I got that going for me. Which is nice.
How did you get the pin out of the dimming rearview mirror the factory one I can't figure it out

I’m a bit dense occasionally and spent all day putting a chase rack on the truck so forgive me, but I’m not entirely sure what you’re asking. Are you having issues with the actual adapter and it not fitting the MY24+ pin out ?

Let me know and I’ll be happy to try and help.

The factory plug does not fit into the dongar adapter. Did you really have to trim a lot off of the dongar adapter

It didn’t take much trimming- just two or three small snips to the plastic for the plug to fit. The issue is the plastic guide alignment; the pinout itself is identical. I already documented this above with photos, which is exactly why I included them and specifically called out that detail.

I finally installed the viofo I got on black friday. Used a razor knife and diagonal flush cutters to mod the adapter, and it took a lot of fiddling to find the right position for the adapter inside, but I'm pretty happy with the results. Need to get a usb-c elbow so I can use the usb port on top and clean the wire up a bit more.

I drilled two 3/8" holes side by side and then used flush cutters to join them into 1 hole. This worked perfectly to fit my USB-C cables through. A rubber grommet finished it nicely and hid the rough edges.

Looks great! I actually ended up swapping to a rubber grommet as well, the double sided tape wasn't doing the trick.

Installed mine today too! Got the cam (Cievie C200) and cable (the Hifihia knockoff) as a Christmas gift. Got a short (3") USB cable off of Amazon and it looks nice and clean! Can't even see it from the driver's seat unless I'm looking for it.

Still wish I could find a similar cable with a 90 degree USB-A, but I'd rather have the 3" length than the right angle if I have to choose. If it bothers me too much I'll probably run it inside the housing like everyone else, but I wanted to be able to unplug it without pulling the shroud.
