Have they released the tune for the 2025 2.7L yet? Ford Performance says that if you use the 2024 tune it'll void the warranty on a 2025.Same engine. The F-150 is tuned to make 325 hp vs 315 hp in the Ranger. They both make 400 lb-ft of torque.
You can get a Ford Performance tune for the Ranger to up the numbers to 355 hp and 433 lb-ft.
It's a great engine.
There is a Ford factory warrantied 2.7t Procal tune on the Ford performance website. No?Have they released the tune for the 2025 2.7L yet? Ford Performance says that if you use the 2024 tune it'll void the warranty on a 2025.
I've got a 2025 with the 2.7L and love it!
Yes, but it's only available for the 2024 not 2025.There is a Ford factory warrantied 2.7t Procal tune on the Ford performance website. No?
Strange, maybe they are having issues getting it [re]certified through the California CARB board, like there is really any difference between the years. But California is a strange bureaucratic place.Yes, but it's only available for the 2024 not 2025.
Do we all kmow it's the same? Yes. But, Ford Performance won't authorize it for the 2025 engine so if you install it, it voids the warranty of a 2025.

Not looking to tune one, I just want reliability. And from everything I've seen over the last 15 years, the 2.7L is the best "EcoBoost" engine Ford has released. It is almost universally praised, whereas ALL the other engines in the family have rampant complaints.Have they released the tune for the 2025 2.7L yet? I've had 2 3.5L engines and both were fabulous. Most people are simply regurgitating problems with the 3.5L soon after its birth (problems were to be expected). Not looking to tune one, I just want reliability. Looks like I can build an XLT with the 2.7 and the options I want for $45k. That's not bad at all.

Yeah it's not close. The 3.5L makes mechanics a LOT of money. I myself have had the misfortune of doing 14 hour timing jobs on them. They are trash, particularly the Gen 2 version from 2015-2018ish. My brother still has a Gen 1 3.5L and he works on it every year but it's still going. I think he's at 150k miles now or so. And I have a friend from high school who has been a Ford technician for 30 years now. He bought a F-150 and went with the 5.0. I asked him why and he said " I work on 3.5 Ecoboosts all day every day. I don't want to work on them at home too. "i had previously heard the 3.5 was the better motor ( a few years back) but i did some recent searching and it looks like the 2.7 is being put up as ford best motor, ever. the car mags all seem to think that and so do lots of ford forum members
