Update Mine is not working. I just went out there and tried it in neutral, I shut the key off with the transmission in neutral. Then I got out and tried to push the truck, it rolled easily. Then I turned the key on, the brake light came on then went off. So all the RA device is doing is turning the brake light on and off, it is not setting the brake. The faint noise I heard was not the brake, it was something under the hood. I just went to the web site and sent them a message.
It won’t engage in neutral, only park and after you turn off the engine.

I thought (and hoped/preferred) it would engage anytime you out into park, not just with ignition off, but still a great feature.

It doesn't engage in park either. There is a distinctive sound when it engages and that sound only happens when I manually engage it. I was able to manually engage it in neutral as well. Tomorrow I will put it in park and attempt to push it, without the brake engaged in park it should rock back and forth against the parking pawl. With the brake engaged, it should not move at all. You can also test this by parking on an incline and turning the key off with your foot on the brake. When you take your foot off the brake the parking brake should prevent the truck from rolling up against the parking pawl, which BTW is why I always set my parking brakes on everything I drive.

TLDR: I suspect the RA Ranger Parking Brake Module is incompatible with keyed ignitions. Please correct me if I’m wrong (I hope I am).

I installed the start-stop eliminator and auto-parking brake modules that I ordered from RA Ranger today.

The start-stop module works perfectly; however, I could not get parking brake module to work.

I tried the parking brake module by itself - no dice. Then tried both daisy-chain combinations with the start-stop eliminator.

There does not appear to be any damage to the chip, I triple checked the connections, and it lights up when plugged in. Haven’t removed the seal yet - wanted to do a sanity check in the forums and reach out to RA Ranger first.

The only common denominator in my initial online search is that all of the vehicles have a push-button ignition.

Have you heard anything? I sent them a message last Saturday and haven't heard anything.

I’m still waiting for my replacement board from RA Ranger - the first one was defective. Will let you know if it’s the same for me

Does the console show the brake is engaged?

Did the new board work? Who did you contact ar RA? I've sent them 2 messages in the last 9 days and nothing but crickets.

Yeah, they haven’t been great with communication with me either.

Last email I got was late-January, only after I tried to initiate a return because they hadn’t responded to my previous emails.

They said they were moving warehouses and implied they’re behind on fulfillment because of IT issues. The entire company might only be a handful of employees, gonna give them the benefit of the doubt for now

My replacement board allegedly shipped in mid-January, but I haven’t received a tracking number let alone the package.

I saw your earlier reply and just emailed them again - will let you know if I get any new information.

I did receive 2 different units from them for my 2025 Ranger. Neither worked. I took them out, but it as this is my only car at the moment, I did not put it back in since this circuit of things are working does keep the truck from working. Maybe there is a 2025 issue, at least with US trucks, since neither boards work for me.

Sent them a message and got a response in less than an hour - they’re going to issue a refund.

Doesn’t excuse the poor communication, but apparently they’ve been working on a fix for weeks and haven’t been able to crack it.

This was their response to my email - I brought up the differences in braking systems and control modules between the 2024 and 2025 MY.

It sounds like they shipped a bunch of boards to 2025 owners, had an “oh shit moment” when they realized the issue was with trucks and not a bad batch of boards, and were stalling as they tried to find a solution.

Thought it was interesting that they said only American (and I assume Canadian) vehicles are affected.

I have a late 2025 XLT.

My E Brake activates when truck is put in park.
i actually do not like the E brake applied every time. Would rather put it on myself.
i feel there is too much asked of the e brake.
i activated the E brake hold.
I find it irritating when you drive away when the truck is parked.
The e brake holds for a second then releases. truck lurches Forward.
I think this would scare some people who are unfamiliar with it.
You have to give a bit of gas to get moving.

I also have a late 2025 XLT (and my name is Brian too) but are you saying your truck automatically engages the parking brake from the factory and you didn't add anything?

Yes, I would say so.

I have the E Brake hold activated through the screen. Just to clarify that I depress the brake peddle at a stop sign. The light comes on in the bottom right of the gauge cluster. Then it holds and I can take my foot off the brake.

Once Parked, when I put it in gear it seems to hold the brakes then releases within a second.
I do not like the feeling of it. Almost have to get the truck moving with a bit of gas. Does this weird lurch.

I search this forum and came upon this thread. Maybe seeing if there was a way to shut this off.
Today i looked through the screen to see if there was an option to shut this off. Nothing.

Will your truck just roll forward once in gear with no gas.

I will look at a couple of things on it.

See if the vehicle will roll forward with no gas applied once in gear. Sure seems to hold the e brake on until the truck starts to move.

Maybe something is lit on the gauge cluster. I think something does light up on the top of the gauges.

i washed the truck today. Thought maybe I saw some scoring on the rotor. Will look at the rotors again with a flash light.

I do not think its causing problems as there is no dragging feeling when driving.

I am going to put a very long extended warranty on it. I have a short commute and do not put high mileage on my vehicles. The sensors are a concern for me for long life.
I just feel this system is over worked. As I said if i could shut that off i would and just apply the e brake manually. A lot of times when parking on flat surfaces i do not feel the e brake is needed.

I have the 2.3L MPC motor. I did not wish to put a lot of electronics on it. Did not do the 301A package. Once i found out the manual seats had Lumbar I was happy with the manual seats.
No Tech Pkg. Basic tow package.
With no 301A, 10" screen and smaller gauge cluster.

I really like the truck. Kind of a Ford Guy. The truck has more then enough power for me. Will not be trailering heavy loads. Would use the hitch with a T Bar then towing.
i came from a 4G Ranger 2.3L.

I actually got in trouble with the turbo kicking in. Rear ended a car. Power on then heavy braking.
I hit the car almost flush. I did not report any damage. It did unclip the fender from the side panel. I rippled the silver bottom part slightly. The lady did claim it as it was a Mercedes. I could not see any damage to her bumper.

So far a great truck, but too much of dumbing down of society stuff. The fail safe things on the ignition and gear shifter are over kill. I see the Lariat will actually put the shifter in Park for you if its forgotten.

Ah yes I forgot about that option to have the brake hold when at a red light etc. That didn't sound like anything useful to me so I never enabled it. I suppose it would be useful if you lived in San Francisco. I wasn't aware it was the parking brake, I thought it was the service brakes.

When you say E Brake hold, do you mean Auto Hold?
