Well, just be glad you were able get their bed rack. For whatever reason AAL refused to design a mount for the t-slot even though I've been asking for awhile now. Even sent them all the measurements needed. While others ask for special light brackets and AAL jumps right on it while I can't even get them to reply to me anymore.
I went out and bought one from another competitor.
You do realize what you are asking of them right? I'm the guy with the light request. This was a simple change since I was able to supply them with a pristine CAD file from Nacho. It was a very easy design change for them to do. Now, I have been waiting for this since I placed my order with them on January 9th. But I made my request about 2 weeks after I placed my order. Sure it's taken longer than I wanted but I understand how this works and I'm cool with it. This is outside of their normal product offering. But now you can order their rack with Nacho lights instead of BD's. So with a simple change it's over 2 months. What you are asking for is much bigger than that.

Now, I still belive they will make what you are asking for but it's going to take time. They produce a ton of products for other platforms. I'm just happy that they have an RR and are not only developing products for us, but are asking for input on what products to produce and what improvements we want to see.

So maybe relax and see what the future holds. We are so used to getting shit in 2 days. This is not amazon.

I hear what you are saying but its not entirely true. He posted a picture of their rack on a t-slot for F150 I believe it was. So shouldn't be that hard. He even stated so.

Well this handle is working a lot better than I expected. Probably one more revision and I'll have it where I want it. I can shake the whole truck with it.

@AdventureLab would it be possible to get a slice from your 3d model just of this face? I can't find my little protractor, so it will be a decent amount of trial and error to get the hole spacing correct in Fusion360. I ordered some carbon fiber poles that I want to mount on the rack to serve as a raised anchor point for a tarp when camping.

@clarke - That handle setup looks nice, great idea! I'll see what I can do about slicing that face out of the model and sending it over as a STEP file. Stand by.

And to this community overall - seriously, thank you. The engagement in this thread, the feedback, the ideas, the builds you're sharing - this is exactly why we do what we do. It genuinely means a lot.

I also want to take a second to be transparent about timelines, because you all deserve that. We support around 10 vehicle platforms, each with its own product pipeline. I design most of what we build, and outside of CAD I'm also running the business - so bandwidth is real. We just hired 3 new team members last week and we're growing fast, adding new capabilities (internal powder coating, CNC router, etc.), but even with a great team, getting a product right takes time.

The CAD work is actually the easy part. We run 13 work centers in-house. Every component - even a variation - needs a fully programmed route through the shop, QC verification, web assets, marketing, and more. At our production volume, one bad routing decision means bad parts shipping at scale which becomes super expensive. We launch multiple new products every week that we can actually build and deliver - not just render and post. That process has real upfront cost, and we take it seriously because you deserve products that work.

We hear every request. We're not ignoring you - we're building things the right way.

SoI asked about a bracket for adding a t-slot rail to your pocket spacers (#12702). I don't need them right now (found a rack I liked), but I still think this would be a great addition to your line for others wanting to add a 15 series bar over their rail caps (for any truck, honestly). Feel free to postpone this request. Thank you!

To run those MOLLE panels, yes, but I also have a full length one drawn up that would allow just 2 RAILs. If that's something you're interested in, let me know and I'll post it up here. I don't think we have released it yet.
Have these ever been released?

I ordered a set 2 weeks ago and awaiting shipment.
They are available for sure as I have also spoken to AAL.

@AdventureLab Are there plans for full height cross bars in the works? I am looking to sell my wagon after I do some work on it, but can't until I can carry my canoe with my raptor.

Yes. Definitely, but I don't have a date for that yet. Need a customer in the shop with a specific need. Road trip? 😉

Ha ha. As much as I'd love to drive out there, it's a bit far from East TN. I'm more than happy to message you with measurements I would need and some ideas to incorporate into your future design.

I talked a big game about wanting a tall rack so I could still roll the tonneau and have a way to carry a bunch of bikes on top of the bed. Its a pretty rare occurance that I need to carry a bunch of bikes and have the bed full of stuff, so in the interest of keeping the solution cost down, here's what I ended up doing.

Just using one of the low AAL rails with a bunch of cheap fork mounts. Moved the toggles for the Bak to the rail. Still need to fit the rest of the bike mounts, but I should be able to get 4 bikes up there. With the bikes off the truck, I can still roll the tonneau up about 75% of the way. Might still end up grabbing the tall rail for some other things in the future. With the nut plates, its pretty nice that you can take this on/off the truck about a minute.

Also not pictured, still need to figure out something to keep the rear wheel from moving, but I'll probably go for a strap across the wheels or something that attaches to the rear tie downs. And if space works out, I might get some mounts for the front wheels that fit between the bikes.

So when you haul the bikes you roll up the tonneau and secure the rear wheel with the tailgate? Assume you aren't driving with the rear wheel unsecured on top of the tonneau, right?

That looks good! What about going to the tall rails and using two of them? You could build a simple tire tray off of the rear rail to secure the tire. You could also mount something like the bike trays as well - https://a.co/d/01Xla0MT
