I guess you don't understand the scientific method.
I don't see where he includes multiple engines for a control group and multiple engines for the test group.

Also if your oil analysis ppm are "high" - what does that mean? Does your engine self destruct? Does it use more oil? Does it make more/less HP? No, it means you post online about it and buy more expensive oil and/or change it more often. But why? To what end? Why not change every 100 miles?

Again, where is scientific studies showing that early oil changes make a lick of difference for passenger vehicles?

Whether an oil lists GF-6 or GF-7 means they are certed to that spec. That does not mean that the oil formulation has necessarily changed.


btw, for those that depend solely on oil analysis numbers … do those numbers consider the build up of contaminants and wear inside the engine?

Ford spec. WSS-M2C961 is also WSS-M2C971 rated. (GF-6 and GF-7)
Personally consider the dual port and direct fuel injectors address the IVD issue. As far as the wear issue I do not know another way to follow the wear in an engine other than UOA.
BTW the intake valves use carbon on the intake valve seats as a sacrificial wear material. One of those balances that needs to be right for valve seat wear.

I get that, Valvoline didn't have to reformulate their GF-6 spec oils since they met the GF-7A criteria, weather Ford reformulated their oil or weather it already met that and simply went through the 7A testing to reach the cert is irrelevant and you or I won't know. But we do know that now, even if it didn't, it lists 7A, which was my only point is that it's to the latest spec.

That's the thing - there is no data. He has a sample size of 1. 1 engine. 1 "break-in" period. There is no control. The "data" is meaningless.

We have no idea what benefit multiple early oil changes actually do. "wear metals" go down - they do that if you follow the owner's manual / OLM oil change interval also. He does not present any data that proves early oil changes actually do good. But he sure got a lot of clicks on his video - that is proven.
