Ordered my Lariat 5/27 and still no email... Priority code 10
My order was submitted 5/26 and still no email. I wish I knew what criteria they used for pulling orders.

Just got a call from the dealership, they said since I had the FX4 package but no running boards, Ford told them I had to either add running boards ($700 upcharge) or remove FX4 before I could get scheduled

it sucks but you may as well get that change in the system ASAP.

i don't see why they don't give us the option of rock sliders instead of running boards, especially on an off-road trim. unless you're short the running boards are completely useless for a truck this size.

Lariat 4x4 + FX4 + Trailer package
Gotcha, well I didn't get the FX4 so I think I should be good.

My dealer doesn't have any allocation yet (small dealership) so I don't think I'll be getting scheduled today :(

I got an email as well. The order is a XLT 4x4 Lux with the Tech and Tow package with a schedule build date of 9/18. Order was placed the Saturday May 27 as Priority 19.

What the hell does running boards have to do with the FX4 package, think the dealer just wants another $700...lol.

it has nothing to do with what the dealership wants. i had email confirmation that my order was in ford's system weeks ago and people who ordered after me were getting scheduled.

seems like people on this board who had the same configuration as me are also not being scheduled until that gets fixed. would love to hear otherwise.

Because who is rock crawling on 255/70/17’s?

Raptor doesn’t even get rock sliders.

it makes more sense to include those on an off-road trim than it does to force running boards on a mid-size truck. every review i've seen says that running boards on these trucks only get in the way.

i will literally be rock crawling in my fx4, lol. that's why i got the package.

I think if you compare the number of people that need or want running boards to the number of people that need rock sliders, Ford didn’t even give a second thought to sliders. It would cost them more to design and build them than they would earn in additional business.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say you’re in the enthusiastic minority that would put up with buying aftermarket sliders. Those aftermarket ones are better anyway. I’ve been looking at one that a slider but also includes electric fold down steps. My 5’1” wife would have a fit if I didn’t have steps for her to climb in especially when the baby gets here.
