I agree with everything except for the looks. I wish the truck was a little more aggressive looking like the Tacoma and Colorado, but the overall value of this truck is better. Another con I have is the driveshaft. It already has surface rust at only 3,000 miles. Apparently this is normal and isn't a concern for Ford, but still....like come on.

Also, the drain plug is garbage. I swapped it with a Ronin one for easier oil changes in my 2.7L.
I don't disagree. Many people mistake my Ranger for an F150 so the styling is more on par with that "look."

As for the rust, I am not too concerned. I had owned an '87 Toyota pickup truck and it was rusty everywhere underneath but still was a good reliable truck.

Sounds like someone needs to arrange a SE PA Ranger meetup!
I have to get my Ranger first :). It has a build date of August 9th. I ordered it June 10th.

I am from the Reading area originally, but I have been living in Collegeville for 11 years now. I put in my Ranger order at Keyser Miller Ford.
I ordered mine from Bergey's Ford in Ambler....where I am semi-retired. Great dealership BTW.

I drive by Sands Ford all the time as my one son lives in Green Lane and another in Macungie

I have a 2025 XLT with the FX4 and tech package, with the new 2.3L. It just hit 1,000 miles. The new 2.3 engine is very strong. I find the XLT seats very uncomfortable because the side bolsters on the bottom make the seat too narrow. I addressed this by simply folding some towels to raise the center portion a bit. The transmission has been issue free and it shifts smoothly and properly.
Yes, they should make the wireless phone charging pad a lighter color to better be able to see your phone there.
So far, my biggest complaints are that the rear seat headrests have to be removed in order to fold the rear seat down - and that there is no camera view that allows you to see the inside of the bed. Both of these seem like glaring oversights to me…
And now, with 2,700 miles on it, I just discovered yesterday that the passenger side rear door does not open from the inside! I have an appointment this coming Wednesday for the brake booster recall so I will see if I can have them repair the door as well…

I’ve only had my Ranger for just under 500 miles.

i have had a key without power locks for 40 years, manual transmission Toyotas.

oddly after crawling around Underneath and looking through the engne compartment, I feel like the ranger is more Toyota like, in a good way, than the current Toyota

same with the styling

the lariat has the intelligent access with push to start and with the optional keypad, I’ve never had some many ways to open and lock a truck.

i like the push in the indent of the handle to lock feature

my only issue is occasionally I try to shift into first gear (old manual muscle memory), and for most of those 40 years, the garage door opener was above the window shade and with homelink it is below….

Is that a Ford keypad? Is it Bluetooth? Love where you located it! Need some details to replicate your idea. TIA

I'm guessing since you guys are putting the keypad inside the gas door that the gas door doesn't lock?
You are correct

Ford keypad, they are wireless. Installed by dealer for me which I think for normal people is a must.

Make sure you get a 2025 keypad for 2025's as the frequency changed and is only black. The 2024 could be factory paint matched.

It is not bluetooth. Looking at the frequency, I think it is more of universal worldwide solution.

It appears to me anyway between this keypad and the oil filter changed (metric threads) from the 2024 that Ford is thinking more worldwide with parts commonality.

Ford used to have hardwired keypads. I read in the vagary of the inter web that customers with f150s weren't so enamored with the new wireless keypads so Ford might move back to wired?

The unit is sealed and I understand you can not change the battery. We will see about that someday.

At any rate you can locate it anywhere you want it. The gas door is plastic and does not lock.

Very handy if you do water sports of any kind or anything else where you can't or don't want to take electronic devices.

one nice thing about the gas door install is if you do have to replace it, you won't damage the paint or finish

I like the pillar installs too.
