I agree with everything except for the looks. I wish the truck was a little more aggressive looking like the Tacoma and Colorado, but the overall value of this truck is better. Another con I have is the driveshaft. It already has surface rust at only 3,000 miles. Apparently this is normal and isn't a concern for Ford, but still....like come on.

Also, the drain plug is garbage. I swapped it with a Ronin one for easier oil changes in my 2.7L.

Small world Tim. Really like that Azure Gray on your Lariat!
Thanks
What I like most is it does not show the light dirt and pollen.

Personally I LIKE the look more than the others. Everything else has so many creases, angles, etc; I find the lines of the Ranger refreshing. I think it'll age better, as well.

I agree with the looks on this truck. It's a more handsome looking design than the other midsizers in my opinion. More simple and not overly done. I think it will age better too.

I’ve only had my Ranger for just under 500 miles.

i have had a key without power locks for 40 years, manual transmission Toyotas.

oddly after crawling around Underneath and looking through the engne compartment, I feel like the ranger is more Toyota like, in a good way, than the current Toyota

same with the styling

the lariat has the intelligent access with push to start and with the optional keypad, I’ve never had some many ways to open and lock a truck.

i like the push in the indent of the handle to lock feature

my only issue is occasionally I try to shift into first gear (old manual muscle memory), and for most of those 40 years, the garage door opener was above the window shade and with homelink it is below….

I do agree that it'll age better in the long run. That said, I do plan on making my Ranger look a bit more aggressive. I also found this grille for the Ranger that is inspired by the Ranger Raptor grille.

The 2.3 is really smooth, plenty of power, I haven't noticed any transmission issues. Actual mileage, 626, drove a 175 mile loop today, city and highway combined, got 28 MPG, I think that's really good, with Tonneau Cover. Will be changing oil and filter @1K miles.

I have a 2025 XLT with the FX4 and tech package, with the new 2.3L. It just hit 1,000 miles. The new 2.3 engine is very strong. I find the XLT seats very uncomfortable because the side bolsters on the bottom make the seat too narrow. I addressed this by simply folding some towels to raise the center portion a bit. The transmission has been issue free and it shifts smoothly and properly.
Yes, they should make the wireless phone charging pad a lighter color to better be able to see your phone there.
So far, my biggest complaints are that the rear seat headrests have to be removed in order to fold the rear seat down - and that there is no camera view that allows you to see the inside of the bed. Both of these seem like glaring oversights to me…
Solved the rear seat problem by purchasing some of the previous gen head rests... they can fold down. Since the leather one's stitch didn't match my black edition black stitching, I used a black permanent marker and carefully dyed the stitching black. The leather texture is not exactly the same as the new gen but I can live with it.

Ok, but I still feel that the non-folding headrests in the 2025’s are a glaring oversight by Ford.
