When I was checking if my Ranger needed the J brace (mine was built on nov 24, 2024 so i think im good) I noticed some weird foam or some type insulation in between the bed and the cab. Does anyone know what this is?

I’ve got a 25’ and noticed a white foam piece (approx 1x2ft) between cab and bed on the drivers side.
I figured it was missed from the dealer unboxing the truck on arrival but when I grabbed it with my bolt picker it was fastened hard to the truck.

Interesting! Then I'll leave it alone and assume its supposed to be there. Mine is also in the same spot as yours.

I need to investigate this too. It seems to be a filter like material like the type that would be in an air conditioner filter in your house however I don't see any evidence of a vent from outside the cab I checked with my inspection camera and just couldn't find anything. I first notice this when I had to install the drain hoses from my bed cover. there are two plugs in the back of the bed and that installation or filter or whatever it is got in the way on one side but I managed to get the hose down past it.

Here's more info here:

I am curious if this stuff is still being found on any '25 Rangers.

It's a sound deadening pad installed from the factory that controls NVH. It's still there on the 25.

Wonder if it could retain water (washing, rain, snow, etc.) setting in there and cause issues later on in the trucks life?

I have the same piece of foam on my 2024........also a November 2024 build date.No worries and the jbrace issue was fixed before then.
