2024 Ranger Camper Shell Compatibility (w/ 2023 Ranger)?

I found a good deal on a camper shell from a 2023 Ranger. I have looked in every place I can and cannot find if a shell that fits a 2023 will fit a 2024 (both 5 foot beds). I know about the J-Braces.

The main difference between the 2023 and 2024 Ford Ranger bed is that the 2024 model only comes with a five-foot bed option, while the 2023 model offered both five and six-foot bed choices; however, some minor dimensional differences may exist between the two, with the 2024 bed being slightly wider but potentially slightly shorter compared to the 2023 model depending on configuration.
Due to minor changes in the bed design, some bed covers made for the 2023 Ranger might not perfectly fit the 2024 model.

My Action Truck Accessories cap (actually ARE branded from Canada) fits like it did on my ‘20 with 2 exceptions. The inside lip of the cap clamps had to be ground flat and I had to order a $213 tailgate shroud kit. The kit included 1 shroud, 1 sticky backed seal, 1 loose seal and 8 rivets. Drill the rivet heads and the shroud pops right off. Put the loose seal in place, put all rivets in place by hand/rivent gun for leverage, verify the loose seal stayed in place then final set all rivets. Took about 30 minutes. Color is close but not perfect…but for $700 invested I guess it close enough.

There are 6 standard cap clamps I used, had to grind the inner lip off flush. There is a picture showing it installed.
I have not cut any shims just yet but I plan to use some UHMW or delrin material.

Very cool Glad I didn't get rid of cap. Everybody was telling me it didn't fit. Thought that was impossible. Measured it up. Knew it had to just be the rear tailgate. Thanks a lot. I bought it from action. So I'll contact them. Thank you

Hello Jimmy, I’ve looked and I cannot find the name that looks familiar or a part number. I had to contact a few ARE dealers in Michigan and they all told me I had to buy new. At that point I had already fit the cap and assumed the solution. A Grand Rapids dealer is where I got it from. Maybe call around and give them an explanation? If I find the name I’ll let ya know. Any other questions I’m happy to help!

Thanks. There was a second guy from Canada that did the same thing as you. I'm going to have my cap painted to match my new color. So I got a bit of time. Crazy that the only two people to figure this out are Canadians and bought both of the caps from action trucks. Guess that says something about us LOL

Action on Kenmount Road in Newfoundland. They told me thats the only difference on the caps. the shell is the same as last gen or close, and its that tailgate flap is what they change. I can see if I can find the part number. but I ordered the cap new, so it came with it. Ill see what the invoice says

EDIT: So invoice stock number is my cap serial number.. Ill see if I can find out what the part number is. or you might be able to email A.R.E. and explain ypu have a cap and you broke the tailgate fibre glass and wondering what the part number is, so you can get your dealer to order it for you.

I asked ARE for the part number for the fibreglass tailgate cap, and rivet kit while asking them what the weight rating of the roof is with the rails on it. turns out they say you go by the attachment, they dont have a weight linit on the reinforced roof for the tracks. so thats works for me. I ended the email with asking for the part number for ya. Ill make another post if they give it to me, or if they will not.

I ordered new. and I had no problem getting the part number for the shroud kit(just now actually as I type this. I started askign about the weight limit of the roof) for my CX Classic, or actions classic(?) cap I think is the cx classic. and when Action started, thats all they did. their old name was Action Truck Caps, now its Action Car & Truck. lol

PA-25446 Is the part # for the A.R.E. CX Classic tailgate shroud for the 6G.

But also fordparts.ca is way better then fordparts.com. everytime I go on the american site, its harder and harder to find anything. meanwhile the canadian we have parts diagrams, and everything.
