Wanted Pepper Red (RRaptor color), but they got rid of it and replaced it with dust brown and swamp vomit green. ? So went with Velocity Blue.
Yeah it was between the Hot Pepper or Velo Blue for me. SO sad they discontinued the Hot Pepper. Wouldn't be surprised if they bought out the Code Orange next year or the final year of the current gen. Not having any sort of red option for a performance vehicle is a crime and major business decision flaw.

Not sure about the poop comments but so far my Desert Sand Raptor gets lots of compliments. People love to color. On the Raptor with the graphics package Desert Sand is awesome.
Was tired on white vehicles, have two in the driveway now. Red was my first choice but Ford screwed us on that one. So with a limited pallet I choose Desert Sand. If I get tired of it I can always do a wrap.
FWIW, I prefer Desert Sand over the likes of Marsh Gray!

Ruby Red all the way, my favorite color next to Screaming Yellow. Love to see a Screaming Yellow/Dark Shadow Gray Ranger.

Man you guys really making me feel in the minority here minus what the polls said. I saw the Marsh Gray in person with BAP and fell in love with it lol. I was torn between it and Velocity Blue since I didn't take that option on my 22 Maverick at the time but the Marsh gray is very similar to OD Green to me in person lol. Love Green especially hunter, kelly and OD so it also matches a lot of my existing gear that it'll be hauling.

Marsh Gray owners rise up ✊
It was this or Azure Blue Metallic which I absolutely love, but no dealer in my state had one to my spec and I didn't want to wait for it. The Marsh Gray looks great with the matte copper mirrors I added.

Went with Oxford White, as the truck will be in Florida, and I didn't want to have my skin blister when I opened and closed the hood.

Colors are a subjective choice and we all have our opinions. That said, I doubt Ford made a "huge mistake" in dropping the cactus gray. I agree that it's a nice color and was popular, but I've yet to hear anyone say, "I wanted to buy a Ranger but they dropped the shiny primer color so I bought a crappy taco instead", let alone multitudes of folks saying such.
You have a point, but as for me, if I'm dropping $50k on something it better be a color I like. I WILL walk away from buying if it's not the right color, but it doesn't mean I'll go buy something else in its place. It means I'll be patient to get something worth $50k.

I agree with a lot of people here that Ford should not have dropped cactus grey. And quite frankly, Ford needs to wake up and smell the coffee and offer more non-metallic truck colors like Jeep and Toyota have done. Is it so hard to offer some non-metallic greys, blues, dark army greens (like Jeep's iconic Sarge Green), and earth tones? They tried with Marsh Green, but it looks great in only some light conditions and otherwise looks like baby puke. And desert sand looks like the inside of a smoker-tinged mobile home.

Here's hoping that a) Ford releases a Ranger Tremor, and b) the Tremor comes in some better non-metallic colors.

Desert Sand looks great with the graphics package. For me it was a break from all the white vehicles I've owned. Wish Ford would get their head out of their a__. Why can't Raptors get the same colors as Broncos or regular Rangers. They could offer special Raptor only colors like how Toyota does with their TRD Pro's.

Same here. I really like Desert Sand and was torn between the 2 until I checked them out side by side on a hot, sunny day. The white was cooler by a lot, so much that you could lay your hand on the hood indefinitely but with the Desert Sand you had to lift it pretty quick. I also used a laser heat gun but I don't recall the difference other than it was substantial. The sales guy said I reminded him of his Dad :D

Arizona desert dweller here.
