Has anyone found the process for disabling the auto start/stop feature for the 24/25 Ranger Raptor in Forescan? I know it can be done so I'm looking for which module and bit value to change. I have the 4D-Tech auto start/stop eliminator cable but these use battery power all the time so if the truck sits for more than a couple of weeks the battery starts to go dead.

Nope. Everyone has looked but no one has figured it out yet

I did notice my battery level drops very quickly... Maybe you're onto something about the 4Dtech module. Leaving the truck stationary over the weekend leads to auto start/stop not working on Monday, and it takes the whole week of my commute (~25 miles a day) before it starts working again on Friday (and then we're right back where we started the next week...) I was about to take my battery in for a health check, but maybe I'll start by taking out the ASS eliminator and see what happens...

As for disabling it in Forscan from the deep dive I did on the subject the other day it is possible, but it apparently causes a bunch of errors on the dash. The only way to do it is to disable the battery monitoring, which the truck doesn't like. See https://www.ranger6g.com/forum/threads/disabling-auto-start-stop.15152/#post-227861

If you still want to try it it's on the Forscan crowdsourced spreadsheet on the TBD tab. (The one on the main tab just looks to hide the options in the console, but doesn't actually disable the functionality).

Something is in mine, I haven't identified what's causing it yet though. The only electrical accessories I have are the 4Dtech module, and the perimeter plus alarm, so one of those is likely the cause. I'm going to go unplug my 4Dtech right now and will report back next week if it's resolved my issue. I generally left ASS disabled and occasionally wanted to turn it back on in stop and go traffic, but half the time it wouldn't work "due to vehicle charging" according to the status screen on the dash.

Yeah, it's still possible I have a defective battery too... But we'll see what troubleshooting says. A defective battery on the '24s was apparently not an uncommon thing. I heard some people say they were recalled, but I don't think it was a publicly announced one if so. The dealer I took it to said they didn't have anything listed when I asked. I ended up not leaving it with them though because they wanted to keep it a full day to test the battery... I decided I'd have them check it when the airbag recall happened instead.

This thread talks about someone who had a similar issue, but they didn't have the 4Dtech module I assume. https://www.ranger6g.com/forum/threads/auto-start-stop-not-working-vehicle-charging.15738/

I do wish the XLT had some way of checking the battery voltage through the dash... but so far I haven't figured out a way to do so. The only indicator I have that it's not fully charged is ASS not working.

Just pulled it. We'll see what happens! I'll note the lights weren't on on the 4DTech module when the truck was off, and they came on when I started the truck, so it seems like the module does power down. Seems unlikely that it'd be causing a power drain in that case, but we'll see... I do know that the alarm module I added (which sits in line with the 4Dtech module) also does have some drain because it has a blinky LED, but it seems ridiculous that that would be causing enough drain to make ASS not work over just a weekend.

That wire goes to accessory it's only hot with ignition on it Won't kill the battery

The second you plug in the cable the LED's flash telling you that the cable is getting power even with the ignition off. I had the same problem with my Explorer ST. It's easy to confirm the drain by checking the amp draw on the battery. My Ranger Raptor is not my primary vehicle. After it sits for about two weeks I get a notification on my connected app telling me I should go for a drive to charge my battery LOL. When I unplug the cable this doesn't happen.

I purchased a harness from Australia vs 4dtech. No battery issues here

I have had the 4DTech auto start stop eliminator on my truck for over a year with zero issues. and even when the battery is disconnected for several hours it still remembers the previous setting. I dont see how this little thing could possibly drain a battery... most likely it is the perimeter plus alarm drawing the battery down.

Could you please tell us what company in Australia you purchased the harness from? Thank you.

I've had the 4dtech for almost a year with no issues with the battery getting drained. Longest it's been parked has been about a week when I was on vacation. I would expect if it's dying within a couple days it is a more significant power draw than the 4dtech could make.

I haven’t had any issues with my 4DTech ASS. Not even after sitting for a week or so.
