I can barely squeeze 300 miles out of tank on my RR, that's only if I ignore the fuel low warnings LOL.
Today I am pushing it, I got to my office showing only 10 miles to empty. LOL
setting at 290 miles on this tank.

I think it’s pretty unlikely that it comes to the US. For all the reasons mentioned above. But if it does, this will be my next truck. It’s a GOOD looking truck too. And I love the factory snorkel option.

F150, while wildly popular in North American, does not sell well in other markets due to size. As an example, in Europe you can get an F-150 but it just does not fit the road system, Ranger is the F-150 pick up truck, it's the one used as a work truck the way F-150 is a work truck here. Offering Ranger as a Super Duty there, not not in North America, makes sense for Ford as they do not want to cannibalize F-150 sales. Elsewhere, the Ranger Super Duty enhances and extends Ford's P/U line.

Ranger Super Duty will not happen in the US unless or until F-150 sales crash and market studies tell Ford consumers are moving away from large trucks to smaller ones.

This.

I imagine the only way that would change is if Ford decides to integrate the Ranger into the F-series trucks (rename it the F-100 or somesuch) which I admittedly think is highly unlikely.

Bumping this older thread because there is some interesting information (from reliable sources) about the Ford Ranger's future. I provided a link for the discussion on Blue Oval Forum below but here is the short version:

  1. Production of the Ford Ranger at the Michigan Assembly Plant (MAP) will be terminated (timeline unknown).

  2. A Ford Bronco pickup will replace the Ranger production at MAP.

  3. A Ford Ranger replacement (likely named F-100) will be produced at the Tennessee Truck Plant (TTP):
    1. The TTP (formerly called Blue Oval City) was originally intended to build the second generation of the F-150 Lightning which was cancelled.

    2. The F-100 will be based on the Ford Ranger SD that is currently available in ROW but not North America.

    3. The F-100 will likely be produced/branded/marketed under the F-Series umbrella (no longer a red headed step child).

    4. The F-100 will hopefully have more cab and bed configurations (similar to the F-150).

Interesting stuff for sure.
‘Ranger sales volume has always been seen as taken a back seat to Bronco production needs.
The F100 name has always made a lot more sense for the US market and a midsize truck.

A Hd version could work, but I can’t imagine the rest of the Ranger lineup disappearing.
The traditional mid-size truck segment has been on solid footing and displaying decent growth over the past several years. I can’t imagine they would abandon it, or leave it with only a HD cab and chassis version.

I briefly skimmed over that thread. It all sounds pretty speculative. I guess we'll see what the big blue oval finally decides to do when they do it.

that’s a lot of conjecture.

I think we do know something will be built in the Tennessee truck plant that will be an affordable midsize truck internal combustion engine.

I was thinking that would be a hybrid version of the euv truck.

not a F100

I guess we will see.

No, me either. I'm betting that the F-100 will be much like the Ranger we know today but with Ranger SD underpinnings, a lot more configurations and hybrid power train(s). Think smaller F-150 (i.e. F-100).

Yes, lots of speculation. But some of the key posts are from insiders with a history on BOF.

I was thinking that would be a hybrid version of the euv UEV truck.
A hybrid Maverick already exists but a new version of the Maverick could incorporate UEV elements. The UEV truck (a.k.a. Skunk Truck) can be viewed as a Maverick EV. More insider info suggested that "Maverick EV" or "Ranchero" are the two names being debated for the Skunk Truck.

that would make sense to me. Yes I knew the hybrid maverick exists, but I could imagine a hybrid only new maverick with as you state, a lot of skunk works stuff. So more casting and molded parts, less fasteners, same updated assembly line technique.

‘the ranger is a global truck and I can’t see a ford bronco pickup and a ranger pickup, because of that.

I don’t see the Ranger nameplate going away. Maybe the super duty ranger becomes the f100, seems too close to the f150, but maybe ford has changed their tune on that. That has always been the reason the ranger has not been given more emphasis in North America.

i suppose the F100 might be a way to take on the Tacoma Less directly.
