I'm not holding my breath, but that would be nice to see. The switchblade key on the XLT and STX always seemed like an odd choice in 2025.
Yea very odd in this day and age for sure.
It is available on the XLT F150, I was very surprised that it was not available on the Ranger XLT.

Seems like it would be a simple add to the XLT Ranger especially now the Chip shortage issues of recent years should be over now.

I ordered a XLT Ranger in late August 2025. Have heard nothing from Ford. Let's see if this turns into a 2026. I hope i can still get the marsh gray.

For thieves does the key start make it harder to steal over the push button start.

Take it with a grain of salt, but Car & Driver showing no changes (page updated 4 days ago):

"What's New for 2026?
The Ranger carries over unchanged for the 2026 model year."

https://www.caranddriver.com/ford/ranger-2026
This is just a Car and Driver click-bait!!! Nothing official from Ford. And the dealer I’ve been talking to doesn’t have any info at the moment either.

I’m in the same boat just waiting to see if a Tremor is coming for ā€˜26. If not, I guess I’ll either order a new Ranger Raptor or a loaded Lariat FX4 and build my own ā€œTremorā€. I’m more than ready with a 2002 F-150 (purchased new) as my daily driver and a savings account flush with enough $$$ to avoid financing. Next month will be 8 years of banking a truck payment to myself.

I am not sure what the difference would be on the tech side of theif getting one started, but I have to think the Keyless deal is better for the human nature side of things.

Meaning I am less likely to lose my keys or leave them laying somewhere, if I am just caring a fob in my pocket and never have a need to really ever take it out of my pocket till I am back at home changing closes or something.

I may buy a Ranger Lariat 4x4. My desired color is desert sand but I can't find any 2025 in that color. And I believe the order banks for 2025 have closed.

Sure keeping my fingers crossed for the desert sand color to be available on the 2026.

Btw, this is my first post.

Exactly. I think China has to pay for all of the tariffs...like how Mexico was going to pay for the wall.:crackup::crackup:
Does it matter who pays?

As a country, the US has been living off a proverbial credit card for decades. That bill is going to come due and so as a country the US has to start making its own widgets, no more treating China or others as our servants.

How does this work? You can place an order but I'd think you'd need to see the options to do so?

Lots of 2024s in sand color on the inventory search tool.

Yeah I haven't seen the build sheet yet. I'll post it if I get it before someone else posts it.
Thank you very much. The dealers I'm working with don't have any info since all the ordering people are gone on the weekend.

well sand is i believe a 2025 color only

and for some reason sand lariats at least in southern California are relatively rare.

i was lucky to find mine. A buyer had ordered it and changed their mind.

but @ExpoGuy I do see a couple sand lariat 4x4 at Galpin ford

I see in the latest window stickers desert sand is an up charge paint

my only prediction for 2026 is that it will be the same but they will delete a feature that will make us scratch our heads and you will pay more either by changing the base price and/or by paying more for options.

Sand is a very interesting color, I haven't seen a Ranger that color yet so I wouldn't be comfortable ordering. Anyway, I also want the sandstone interior and I'm not sure how it'd go together with sand exterior.

I see mavericks and Broncos in sand.

Desert Sand is a great color. Light and doesn’t show dirt.

sandstone interiors are even rarer, and would look great with desert sand

what gave me pause, besides being extremely hard to find,

is that the dash is still black. So you get i suppose lining, seats and some door panels in samdstone.

oddly the light gray liner in the ebony package can look like it is a sandstone at times

i think what you really get is lighter colored seats

i opted for some tan seat covers.

Desert Sand with black accents looks pretty good. Probably second only to my personal favorite, white with black accents and wheels.
