2027 Ford Ranger - What are Your Thoughts?

I just don't understand why everyone is stoked on the Tremor.

I would still rather have a Ranger Lobo with a 5.0 Coyote in it. The Tremor is pretty much nothing more than stickers, its really nothing more than a slightly modded FX4 and most people that have done lifts, shocks and tires probably already have a better off-roader than the Tremor. Just like with the F 150s, a Tremor will never be positioned to compete against a Raptor at a lower price point.

They are just selling the name to get another sale. Its an xlt fx4 with a sticker and some yellow orange bits. 1" of lift? That's a waste. Most people who buy it are just going to do it to beat out the Jones and won't know the difference between a tremor and stx, other then it looks cool.

And the others will immediately put a lift, wheels, and add lights defeating the purpose of the tremor package.

Its fine that a tremor is coming out but to think it's going to off road different or better then any other 4x4 ranger is probably not wise. Buying a sport 4x4 xl and taking some off road training is way more effective than buying a special off road package in your truck.

Sorry, as you can tell, I am bored with all the speculation and back and forth about the tremor package.

Until Ford actually officially announces something, its nothing but AI-generated rumor that people are taking as fact. Unfortunately Ford's recent officially announced "Way Forward" doesn't support a lot of the trash.

Well, after reading Ford's "Way Forward" plan, I for one am not holding my breath Matt. It makes sense, if they are going to remain globally competitive. The US tends to forget we are no longer the giant share of Ford's market, we are actually only a medium sized slice of the pie with Canada, and our "wants" our fundamentally different than the needs of the largest share of Ford's customers.

Lol, guess Ford needs to review their own specs... You should probably let them know. Ford began switching to Qualcomm 5G modems back in 2022, beginning with the 2022 Super Duty series.

As far as I know, the Rangers through model year 2026 come with 4G modems. Quite disappointing given how long 5G has been the standard for even the cheapest of phones.

Well, the comments I posted are from Ford.com, so they are not wrong. According to Ford, they are actually 4G/5G modems which is sensible since 5G is a high frequency, high speed, short range service and 4g is a lower frequency, much longer range service. When I run speed test with my laptop through my 2025 Ranger, I can download at 341 - 350 Mbps in a moderate 5G area (5G speed), when I'm outside of the 5G area I drop to 20 - 40 Mbps (4G speed). So 2022 Rangers did not come with 5g modems, but 6G Rangers did.

I only see the 2026 F-150, Super Duty, and Maverick listed on that page, so I assume they're the only Ford trucks with the updated 5G modems.
