My RR is less than a week old. I had a ppf put on and when applying the ppf the paint peeled on the driver side wheel well. I already called my dealer to report it. I have not heard back from them. I am expecting a battle. If they won’t replace it, I at least hope they will sell me a new at their cost, not wholesale. It looks like they come pre painted, fingers crossed they do, that would make this less painful.
Anyone had issues with paint on this part? Anyone know if they come pre painted?

It looks to me, in that photo as someone painted the carbonized gray paint and over lapped it onto the wheel flair?

This is a common problem on the F150 Raptors. If you go search their forums, you'll find people having paint peeling under similar conditions. It would probably be cheaper for your to get a paint shop to fix it rather than buy a new flare. I would be surprised if a new flare comes pre-painted.

Yeah, the wrap shop that did my tint said its common for the paint to peel on the arches. Whatever the situation with the arch material and the paint, it can lift much easier than the body paint.

Thanks for the insight. This happened while they were prepping the truck so no ppf on the part.

The body shop said to paint it they have to sand it and with texture on it there would be a flat spot and it would not look right.

Cost to paint $500 to $600 from two body shops.

Cost to purchase new $400 over the counter. I imagine closer to $200 at Ford’s price. If pre painted no extra cost. If needs paint the same shops quoted $200 to $300, so same price as repairing the one on the truck at total cost.

If Ford steps up and replaces it, no cost.

Am I tripping or isn't our wheel wheel / fender flare an unpainted dark grey plastic?

That is what I thought and I’m still tripping but it peeled. I’ll let you all know the verdict. I’m taking it to the dealer tomorrow.
