Tell us you don't want us to be towing with our Ranger Raptors,

without telling us.

Ford, you go first.

( Cough, cough, ok let's see here. Ahh yes, down here. There we go, no one will ever notice. You think they'll ask why? Nah, you can't even tell 🤣 )

 They didn't want to put a hole in the plastic valance above the bumper, they mounted it down low so you rip it off when you are off road.

The only reason I can think of for this is the spare tire being a 33", they couldn't fit the connector there without it sticking out further. If it sticks out further, then it blocks that light that shines on the license plate.

I assumed it wasn’t in the bumper because of rest of world license plates. Some are significantly wider than what we have in the states. Now seeing that the regular truck has it in the bumper it must be a spare tire issue.

Yeah the OEM 4/7 pin connector’s tend to be a pretty deep connector. I’m sure interference with the connector is why it got relocated. Also probably why the Raptor doesn’t get the spare tire lock. Would have been nice if they’d worked up a low profile connector to make it fit in the standard location. Probably something the aftermarket could solve pretty easily if the new location tends to be a problem with departure angles.

Probably the only downgrade when upgrading to the Raptor! Besides more $$ 😀

Its lower than the tow hitch! 100% guarantee smash if you do any time kind of steep incline trails like Fins & Things @Moab.

Since approximately 1 out of every 10,000 Rangers sold will ever see even a moderate offroad trail, Ford should definitely spend the money on high-clearance bumpers and tucked-in trailer plugs, just in case.

What do they think, offroad enthusiasts are going to just modify their own vehicles to suit the conditions they’re going to encounter?

I could have sworn in one of the videos I watched, that the plugs were protected by a metal bracket.

It's wrapped in steel. You'll probably just scuff the bottom of it same as the tow hitch but it will be fine.

Lol, I think so too.

Just being a little extra outrageous.
