I'm waiting until next year to get all my recalls done. I don't need somebody tearing apart my plastic trim pieces and damaging them. And definitely not waiting 24-48 hours! If my truck catches fire, so be it. I have insurance. :sunglasses:

basically they check for a short to ground, if not found then kick it out the door (24 hr). If a short is found then take apart interior as necessary to get at wiring and fix (48 hr). I’ll post back and update on what actually happens.
I might tell courtesy driver to drop me at nearest Honda dealer and see if it raises a few eyebrows 😆

I try not to be a cynic but…. I have a recall on my truck for possible pinched wires for the lighting on my sunvisor. They are going to fix pinched wires with a software update. Oh and by the way, I don’t have lit mirrors on my xlt. 🤔
They all have the same harness in the windshield header, whether you have lighted visors or not. I replaced the un-mirrored passenger visor with an OE illuminated-mirror version, and didn’t have to do anything to the harness. Kind of disappointed with the dimness of the lights, though… not nearly as bright as the overhead console lights.

‘if I had to guess this will be one of those things that will be fixed, even if out of warranty.

with less than one in a hundred affected, and balancing something could go wrong if they remove the pillar cover, it’s probably a good trade off

it was my understanding that the fault code for the short had to be checked, maybe that can be done remotely.
A lot more than 100 affected. If Ford was going to repair after out of warranty, they would add an extended coverage notification for this specific recall. (Ford tech)

We scan for a certain BCM (Body Control Module) code, if present it gets a new BCM, if not just a BCM software update. I am a Ford Tech and I am skeptical.

Interesting, I thought it had to do with a (possible) pinched wire. I just dropped it off so I’ll see what the next 2 days brings.

Dealer came to my house to do recall. They did not disassemble anything. Took less than 30 minutes. Bad thing about this new on location work is they give you morning or afternoon appointments and he finally came at 5 . So need to be available all afternoon waiting for them. They do text when on the way. They would not do the seat recall on site.

I hear of the onsite maintenance so I asked the dealer where I take my Ranger, unfortunately they don’t do that, oh well.

I think you meant it gets a new wiring harness if the code is present.

I had mobile service for the brake booster recal. They scheduled an exact time and showed up exactly in time.

I had four recalls done, including the pinched wire, trailer Module, pinched wire, and seat bolt all done in one day at the dealer.

My dealer here in Indiana is just starting, my recall was the third one he has done on the pillar recall. I asked about the oil changes and he said they are not doing it yet but are getting set up for it.

1 in 100. Or 1%

not 100 total. More like 1000 out of 100,000

but I assume that is just a guess by ford anyway.

I will bet they cover it out of warranty.
