Has anyone found a trailer wiring / trailer connector (since it hangs low) slider that can protect that part when around rocks? It looks like the only weak point once you have added a bunch of armor underneath for most other things. I have a 41.22Inc slider for the hitch itself, but nothing so far for the trailer wiring / 7 pin connector. That seems like it would be an easier solution than relocating the connector itself.

Something like this that exists for Jeep Wranglers - https://metalcloak.com/jl-wrangler-...lVT_iFRZ7JDy8zktEmHuK-V2RUlqUTTzolSYa5cD84CB2

Why not just use that one? It just screws to the hitch or bumper.

Some of my cherokees had a factory cover like that because they came with the jeep factory tow package. They also just wete held in place with a screw on each side

The option is no good, if you’re going to leave the spare in place.🇺🇸
This shows the mounting process and the connector is closer to the spare in the stock location than after moving it. Just looked under my truck and there is PLENTY of room for this to work.

Thanks. I saw this a week after I posted the question above. It is a good solution and it certainly looks like the spare fits even with this relocation.

I have a couple of the new (somewhat overkill) Altiq Rock Light Pros in the spots on the sides of the license plate though as additional reverse lights (wired into the center pin of the trailer connector itself), so I'd rather not move one of them for a trailer connector I'd very rarely use.

However, I ended up cutting the bracket off and (for now) have ziptied it behind the bumper. It's going to be welded to the back of the bumper facing downwards instead eventually.

No there’s not in reality and the video excludes any photos from the underside;

Plug Mount is outboard of the bumper recess mounting position. This puts the plug and rear assembly; middle of the spare tread, mounted to the left.

With the wiring pigtail attached to the plug assembly, there’s barely enough room if any. I’m skeptical, until I see it installed with photos to verify its positioning. Right now, there aren’t any from the manufacturer or anyone else for that matter.

Lower photo, to the left of the three dots on the plastic and that’s not allot of room.

I’ll wait and see someone’s install before purchasing……..🇺🇸

Final result in the attached pictures. Definitely way more protected (I know, I could have maybe recessed it upwards a bit further) than the stock position where it'll hit things and bend.
