On mine as well, they put the wiring pins besides the license plate as opposed to underneath the truck.I don’t see what you're trying to show me. Can I get a close-up? Maybe I got that as well

Just left of my licence plate is the 4/7 pin connector. Just click on my pic and it should enlarge so you can see it.I don’t see what you're trying to show me. Can I get a close-up? Maybe I got that as well

Yeah I see it now. I don’t got that. I should have gotten the hitch during the orderingJust left of my licence plate is the 4/7 pin connector. Just click on my pic and it should enlarge so you can see it.
I have the same cutout or what have you on the right side of my plate which you can see in my picture. I’ll poke my head underneath tomorrow and report back with a picture.Interesting. On the 5G, it was obvious where the plug should be. You could see it form the outside and cut on the line. It was open behind with a metal bracket behind the plastic. What does the spot beside your plate look liked from behind?![]()
I ordered the OEM class IV hitch from Ford and now I'm looking for a wiring harness that connects to a 7 pin connector. I tried the Etrailer version but connections didn't fit. They were great about the return however it looks like the earliest they will have a plug and play version is in October 24. If anyone knows about a different option for 7 pin wiring, please post.If it's like the 5G Ranger, the wiring will install inline on your frame rail and be pretty easy to do. It might be too early for anyone to have kits available though. eTrailer says this fits, but I bet it's for the 2019-23 Rangers. It could end up being the same. I installed this on my 5G. It comes with the wrong trailer plug for the bumper, so I had get the right kind myself.
As far as a hitch goes, they say they are actively working on a hitch. The OEM will fit better, but will undoubtedly be more work. Here's the install instruction for the OEM.
It might be a bit before anything aftermarket is available.

Thank you for the instructions. I ordered the OEM class IV hitch kit and will probably have the dealer install it now that I've looked at this document. If it's like the 5G Ranger, the wiring will install inline on your frame rail and be pretty easy to do. I bought the Curt C82ZV hitch from etrailer and it's an easy install with only 4 bolts. If it's like the 5G Ranger, the wiring will install inline on your frame rail and be pretty easy to do. Post some pics, so that others can see. I bet it looks good and gets even more attractive when people see how much easer it is to install than the OEM version.I bought the Curt C82ZV hitch from etrailer and it's an easy install with only 4 bolts.
You're lucky you got that type of hookup, they put a female 4 pin flat connector up under the bumper and I smash my hand trying to pull the connection from the trailer out. This is going to change very soon!On mine as well, they put the wiring pins besides the license plate as opposed to underneath the truck.

This was a very easy install even with no help available. The hitch is pretty heavy so I jacked it up in place with my floor jack. As you sad, torquing the 4 bolts (2 on each side) to 196# is not easy! I attached 4 picsPost some pics, so that others can see. The install looks the same as it was on my 5G. I clamped the tabs off the side of the bumper bar to keep it in place. Torquing the bolts to 196 ft lbs was not fun lying on the ground, but doable![]()
