Has anyone else noticed an aggressive rev match when it downshifts to 3rd. The effect is that it pushes the truck forward in what feels like an unnecessary manner.
I noticed this in stock and thought that the ProCal might help, but it doesn't seem to have made much difference so far, but I'm only 300mile or so in after the tune. All the other gears are fine, it's just in 3rd that this seems to happen. I wonder if manually shifting when it holds 3rd too long will help, or would the screw up the adaptive learning of the transmission?

Yes this is normal for the stock shift schedule. We can fix this with pro tuning, and make +100whp over stock.

That's about 50hp over the procal

Thanks, but I like the warranty on my ā€˜26 😊

Just remove the tune if you go in to the dealer.

That's what the 3 dealerships I'm tuning for right now told me to do.

Pretty sure Ford diagnostics will still flag it due to things like flash count discrepancies, calibration verification numbers, data in module handshake logs and maxed out boost pressure and fueling logs.

No, they don't.

The program you're thinking of (FDRS?) doesn't do that. It'll count key cycles but flashing a Procal does the same thing to the cycles so it's really a wash.

I had the procal 4 on my my 24 Ranger Raptor and just installed GooseTuned. The comparison is not even close.
I was on the fence at first about the warranty as well hence why I wasted $850 and with Ford having so many goddamn recalls, I figured when/ifI bring it into the dealership, I’ll switch it back to stock. They’re not gonna be checking for it.

The rev matching is terrible for the street and honestly with how aggressive the rev matching is they should have made a dedicated track mode where it belongs.

Rev matching is cool but not when it overshoots the rpm’s like a brand new driver.

Ford should have accounted for braking to a stop in street mode by rev matching lower or add an option to stop it.

Finished my tuning with Winfield at Goosetuned about a week ago, and I don’t think I could be happier. It’s incredibly drivable in day to day driving but when you give it throttle input, wow! And for fun put it in sport mode it’s sick! Don’t hesitate, just do it. And my truck now has 9000miles. If there’s an issue flash back to stock but I highly doubt you will, it’s safe reliable power.
