Hey guys!

I picked up a well-used 2024 Ranger Raptor about a month back (June of 2025). Looking at the underneath I could tell this truck had seen its fair share of off-roading and rock crawling etc. For the price and my mechanical ability, that didn't concern me too awfully much. The transmission crossmember has some scrapes as well as the lower rear trailing arms and bottoms of the shock guards. All the typical rock scratches you might expect. Again, no big issue for me because I very likely will add to them.

Reason why I am here... I have a rattle coming from the right rear that is consistent with bumps and dips in the road. Definitely coming from that area. Checked all the normal items like the spare tire, shock play etc. It kind of sounds like there is a loose socket in the bed all the way in the back. Is there anything that you guys may be aware of that I am overlooking? Maybe something to look for or check? I keep thinking tailgate but not sure.

Anyways, I was contacted by the previous owner of the truck after she saw my initial post on instagram. Went back and forth a bit about the truck and then crickets when I asked about the noise. Figures.

Thank you!

Have you rode in the bed while some drove and thats how you mostly pinpointed it?

If not, i would that and maybe they did drop something in the tailgate or bed wall?

There was something dropped in the bed floor. It has a decent dent real close to the corner by the taillight. I can’t see it from under neath very well. Think maybe it knocked something loose?

Likely not the culprit... but just in case.... the rear seatback in my '24 RR doesn't always latch correctly and it gives nice annoying clunks on bumps when it doesn't, seemingly toward the right rear (of the cabin).

I will check this.
Truck definitely did not make this noise on the test drive.

I went out and closed it and test drove to confirm. It was some of it. It’s more bearable now!

Ive been facing a rattle on my 24 RR as well since new. I thought it might be spare tire. Cranked the winch nice and tight still there. Thought it was rear seat. Nope still there. Wow sure hope others can figure it out.

Yes, those are low hanging fruit. I’m ready to pull the bed off and drive around a bit.

Exactly what I was going to suggest as well.
Bought mine new and had a very annoying rattle like that on the 5 hour trip home from dealer . Pulled over to look for a couple times before figuring out it was the back seat not properly latched causing all rattle noise.

I had a real annoying rattle from right rear for over a week. I finally realized my rear seat wasn't locked all the way back. It sounded like it was coming from under the truck. Was so relieved once I found it. Hope this helps...
