Just came across the Goodyear Wrangler Outbound AT. Guessing its a new tire, as there are no professional reviews and only a couple customer reviews. But the feedback sounds like really nice on-road manors and performance while still having a moderately aggressive look/tread. The LT285/70R17 is on the heavy side but maybe we will see an S/L or C rated tire in the near future. Anyway, maybe another one to keep an eye on.

One of the Tire Rack reviews-

5 out of 5
"I purchased these from tire kingdom even though there was not one review and honestly would have never imagined getting good years for some reason. I was looking for a month at all the a/t tires out. I wanted zero compromise as far as handling ,noise and comfort all while having a tire with a beefy look to it. This tire 100% checks those boxes. They are amazing. So quiet , absorbs any bumps like they weren’t there and the handling is awesome. If you want an a/t these are it! I haven’t tried them in the rain and will never have the in snow but with the way the siping and tread pattern looks I doubt they will dissapoint. Also worth mentioning they balanced with little weight."

Hoping the S/L model comes out before the KO3's annoy me enough to replace them!

The S/L model is scheduled to be released next year. It should be around 46 pounds.

Those look decent, but I have my doubts that they will be significantly better than the Pirelli XTM AT's on-road, while not being as good off-road. XTM's are THE TIRE to get for the RR. Ford is now shipping Expedition's with the XTM's for the off-road oriented Tremor package, and I really think they should switch the RR over to the XTM AT's as well, very well suited to the RR's nature.

Although I would say those Goodyear's will probably hold a bit more lateral G's in cornering on-road due to the supported and uniform shoulder blocks, that's what is going to make them a little better in cornering on-road, but in terms of snow, wet traction and braking, I'd say it's likely a tie or the XTM's will prevail while still being significantly better off-road.

For off-raod, larger shoulder block voids and side sipes are what give you that bite in more difficult terrain (loose dirt, silt, gravel, sand etc.). But I would agree that if you hardly off-road and do prefer better lateral stability, that would give you that edge on road even over the XTM's if you live in an area with a lot of twisty, winding roads and prefer on-road handling while not being useless off-road. Good find!
