Anybody parking their Ranger in a carport?

Hey guys. Bought my house 6 years ago and was stoked to finally have a 2 car garage! Unfortunately, the house was built in the 1970s so it is a garage of yesteryear, with just 7 foot ceilings and the absolute bare minimum of space. My current Subaru just barely fits comfortably...

I've taken measurements and determined that, technically, the Ranger can fit through the garage door. I think if I need to do some work on it like oil changes, without needing room on the sides to jack her up, I can make it work, but unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to comfortably park in here everyday.

That leads me to thinking I should get a carport installed on the property instead. Do any of you park in a carport and if so, what size is it?

The Ranger measures approximately 17.5 ft long x 6.6 ft wide x 6.2 ft tall. I'm thinking a standard 12x20 ft carport would do the trick, but wanted to see what you all do. Thanks!

Mine is 20x30 with 10 closed in in the rear. I also had them make it 1 foot taller.

Nice! I can't seem to find a carport company in my area so looking at kits and building myself...

I’ve had it about 12 years now. Originally the sides were open but a few years ago my buddy and I closed them in. Left a doorway behind my truck though to exit/enter from side. The guys that put it up did it in a couple of hours.

I built a carport over my parking area in front of the garage. Just 2x8s and 2x10s with corrugated metal on top.

Mine is tall though, because we had an RV on the parking spot for a while. I can tell you got a few feet longer than you think so you don't have to nose against the garage door

My home with an attached two-car garage was built in 1957 and I could just get my F-150 in there so there's no problem with the Ranger at all.

Nice! My 2 car garage is certainly small. Oil tank on one side, and steel support columns on other side. Even a standard garage door only gives a few inches on either side of the mirrors...

Worst issue though is the length. I have a small work bench and shelves against the back wall, so backing in the truck, with just an inch between the front hood and the door, would be right up against the shelves and bench... with no walking room to get around to my tool box and such.

Just not gonna work!

My garage was built in the 40s so I think it was made for a model a or t or something like that. My e30 bmw could fit in and my old karman ghia could but that's it
