Anyone else’s OCD triggered by only half of the non-Raptor Ranger’s taillights being functional.

The XL actually doesn’t suffer from this problem. Its incandescent taillights are a simple red-yellow-white stack.

I do appreciate that Ford uses yellow for the indicators. So many manufacturers have moved away from that, and I believe it’s a mistake.

See, I would much rather have those taillights.

Looks much more uniform and appears to be entirely functional.

Those look really good to me.

After you posted the price differences, wow that was crazy.

I never expected that sort of difference. Not thousands, that is just insane.

This just drives my ocd nuts, that only half of these taillights is actually functional.

Why Ford , why? Lol 😂

The Raptor version for whatever reason actually comes with a fully functional taillight.
‘Why is that?
Raptor on the left, Lariat on the right.

Raptor taillight.

Lariat taillight. Half the light is just a reflector, doesn’t light up.

I don't mind the Lariat look. It triggers a specific memory about the rear parking lights on classic Mercedes models like this, more incognito, but it does call for using hazards for visibility if you're stopped somewhere like the side of the road:

Isn't there a brake light on the Chinsel (up top)? It doesn't look illuminated in the first photo.
The brakes are not on either truck in the pics.
Just headlights and or running lights on the rear.

these fit your 2025 ranger? Amazon, says they wont fit my 2024 ranger XLT
Have you ever contacted Amazon support? They're not the brightest bunch.

You enter your vin on amazon website and it does a pretty good job showing what's available for your VIN. Support has been fine for me.
Thanks, but I don't really need instructions on Amazon's VIN parts checker, especially since in this case it is totally incorrect.

I've had different experiences with the outsourced support. Absolutely useless with near comical grammatical and spelling mistakes.

the non lighted part is reflective and if someone is behind it will not look so different?

also if you are stopped with your lights off, the non raptor might have an advantage in visibility?

it does some a curious decision and Ford has made several of them on the Ranger

I would think it would be cheaper to have them all the same or at least the ones with blind side sensors the same instead of a different stocked item

do the raptor tail lights have the same physical configuration as the lariats?

edit: I can see that was answered, pricey swap for sure. 👍

Besides the tail light harness(frame connector to light) being different, so you need that too... the price difference per light brand new Canadian, is about $1000. plus the taillight harness.

I agree, I'm perplexed by the design and illumination style of these taillights, at first it kind of reminds me of the Taco light when illuminated (not the housing shape itself) .
I actually prefer the look and the more cleaner squared style of the XL housing using all the lens area being functional. In my  world I would replace the halogen bulbs of the XL setup with LED upgrades like i did with my XLT signal & reverse.
I know i would loose the BLISS and not sure how the truck would react probably setting off all the chimes. I think i would survive without that feature.
My '19 XL Ranger wasn't BLISS optioned and i didn't run anyone off the road lol.

Holy guacamole! Check out the difference in the price of the taillight assembly for the Raptor vs XL.

Raptor:

XL:

about $1,000.00 Canadian between the Lvl 3 RR tails, and the Lvl 2 Lariat/XLT tails. and the driver side tail XL/STX lvl 1 tail is only 600 ish, yet the passenger side is 1100. wow🤯🤯 again these prices are canadian

Howdy, I was not giving you instructions. I was simply double-checking with you since Amazon’s VIN check indicated the items will not fit per my comment...
...Then you replied back by insulting their customer support which I'm not sure how the people that run support have anything to do with Vin checker on their site. That's dev teams fault or just SKU being incorrectly labeled. We have different year Rangers so maybe yours said it fit and mine did not.

any amber 7443 bulb will fit the front/rear halogen turns, any white 7443 will fit the reverse, and some 921 will fit the 3rd brake/cargo. I ran into the bulb hole being smaller. but I solved that by taking the light off, placing the bulb through the top opening and plugging the socket in the blub that way. you dont need a amazon vin checker for that. 🤦‍♂️

Thank you much for the detailed explanation on part numbers. Appreciate it!
