Anyone install the ford ranger console safe option ?

Just another pet peeve of mine on the Ranger - no lockable center console. My F-150 had it. A vault would be a nice solution, but space is already limited in a Ranger.

I’ve been very happy with it. You are not kidding, storage space is very limited. Also went with Ford swing out storage on passenger side over wheel arch. Plenty of posts on installation, especially if you have spray in bed liner.

Two notes about the vault. Important to notice dial position when unlocking. Also, self tapping screws must have thrown off a small piece of metal that floats back and forth. I need to see if I can get a vacuum in from the side. Would prefer not to have to remove vault to clean it out…

Ordered my '24 with the console vault. I use it regularly storing my G43X when going into place where I can't carry. It really doesn't lose much space, although it does restrict the opening size somewhat. My gripe with Ford was that I had to choose either the console or underseat vault, but could not order with both. I figured the rear seat vault would be an easier DIY install later.

Yeah, I use the center console for sorage, thinking I will go with the rear under seat. If I could put a storage organizer tray on top of the console one it would be a no brainer. My carry is a Kimber Micro 380 so it doesn't take much space.

I looked at the ford storage options. But I installed the Hurricane Fab. tailgate storage. It is pretty slick! Could lock rifles in it too.

I had used console vault before on my 2012 Nissan Frontier and felt it was a great product. I purchased one for my new Ranger XL and I found this to be better made and more secure. It fit perfectly, installation was a breeze. This console vault is NOT made for long term storage of your firearm but comes in handy if you have to run in somewhere that prohibits carrying, this is a fantastic option in my opinion. This will easily hold a Glock 17m, holster and clips if that is what you would want it for. I paid $319. for it and would absolutely buy it again.

Plenty of room for a Glock 26, 2 mags, holster and a few more items. Not underwhelming at all.

My factory console vault has four dials. I wonder why the difference?
I put a G43X, holster and two mags in mine.
