I have a 25 Ranger Lariet bought in April of 25. It now has 11,000 miles. A couple of time Apple Car Play would not connect but this was solved by turning of the truck and restarting. Over the last few days, Car Play does not connect at all. The phone, a 15 Pro, says it is connected via Bluetooth but there is nothing on the “indication” screen. I have deleted the phone twice and re-paired it but it is still not working. However, I can hear what is on the phone through the speakers. Any suggested fixes would be appreciated!

OP, that’s a drag. My Jeep did something very similar for a couple of weeks. Drove me nuts. Then one day it started working again. I never did figure out the cause. A factory reset on the truck seems like a good idea.

I had a sudden “fail to connect” situation come up on a recent road trip, I tried everything I could possibly imagine, with no success. It was very frustrating, because I wanted to bring up a nav program onto the big screen.. Then I remembered that the previous evening I had turned ON my VPN (virtual private network) to connect to the hotel wifi. I turned that OFF and CarPlay was up and running within 15 seconds.

Remember that CarPlay works by wifi, so anything that interferes with that will 100% prevent it from connecting. Also, make sure your IOS is current, it may just have a bug that will fix itself if you are running an old version.

When CarPlay stops working, the first thing I do is delete the vehicle profile from my phone and then the phone from the vehicle. It usually works then when I set it up like new. I had to do this a couple of times to my "21 Ranger, once to my wife's old Outback and to my mom's Buick last week. It worked every time. So far my '24 has been working......

Thanks for your input. My iOS is up to date, 26.2, and I don't use a VPN. I have checked WIFi and bluetooth settings and everything looks okay.
Have you tried a factory reset on the truck?
I have now done that and it made no difference. Except goof up all my settings.

Thanks, I have done that 2 or 3 times.

I agree with HighDesertRanger. It's time for a dealer then. It sucks when something that should just work, doesn't.

I fixed it by calling ford IT dept. Dealers can often be horrible when it comes to software/updates

CarPlay is a “buggy” piece of software.

every couple of months I have trouble with mine

biggest fix I’ve found is to make sure the name of your iPhone does not contain the word “IPhone”

I finally just re-named my iPhone “Jamie Phone” and that fixed 90% of my problems

You called for the OP? Or you had a similar issue that was resolved through calling Ford IT?
