Automatic windows activated (not done by me)

2024 Ranger Raptor - I locked my Raptor and went to dinner. When I returned to my vehicle, I noticed that all 4 side windows were rolled down. I did not open them when I parked the vehicle, nor do I have a setting for them to all open at the same time. I have not ever tried to open them with the key fob.

Help, my vehicle is haunted.

You either sat on or leaned on your key fob. Push and hold unlock activates the global window open feature.

Double press and hold lock rolls them all back up. Good thing you didn't do that in the rain. Nice that Ford put this feature in every single 6g Ranger.

It is not every single 6g Ranger. I have an XLT and it does not have this feature. Might be Lariat/Raptor level or maybe in the tech package.

It is not every single 6g Ranger. I have an XLT and it does not have this feature. Might be Lariat/Raptor level or maybe in the tech package.

Odd. My XLT high has it. It can be turned on/off in the infotainment options. I'm not sure if it was on by default because it's been a while. I don't have the tech package with all the cameras, etc.

I have a 2.7 Lariat and that feature is supposed to be included. I actually read here how to set it up. Unfortunately when I hit vehicle and scroll down, there is no "Window" option. It's not the end of the world but it is a nice feature in hot weather. My 2019 Bullitt has the feature and I use it in hot weather.

EDIT - Checked the whole menu system and nothing about windows. It can be enabled with Forscan so I will add it to my list of changes to make.

Also I've seen this happen in other vehicles if your fob gets wet.

I highly recommend downloading your owners manual to your computer or cell phone from the Ford website. Whenever I run into an issue, I do a search and it usually shows up. The info about Global Window Operation in the 2024 Lariat manual is right after the lighting section. Dont have the 25 edition so cant help ya there.

2026 owner here so may not be applicable, but I thought I went through the owner's manual in the truck and it is an option for on/off.

I do not remember what the default option was though. Sorry.

My 25 xlt high has the option in the menu
Menu/vehicle/windows. There are sliders for auto down and auto up.

I love the auto up feature. Great on hot days. or if you forget to close a window, the auto up

i wish it activated the rear slider window. Always forget to close that and it doesn’t have one touch close or open. Although I thought that was an option in Europe?

ive activated the panic button before by accident learning against a countertop with the keys in my front pocket.

some type of cover might not be a bad idea especially with a lariat or raptor which have the intelligent access feature.

i have a lanyard for my keys and often wear it wound my neck.

I like it too, but never can remember the procedure when I actually need it, which isn't often.
Just like the code for the pin pad on the door.
