Catch Can for 2.3 Ecoboost?

I’ve been reading a bit about adding a catch can to help reduce carbon build up. Has anyone installed one in their ecoboost?

I had a 2.3 in my Bronco and installed a UPR catch can.
I now have a RR with 3.0 and have a UPR catch can installed.
Do they work? Yes....

That's me trade every 5 years and maybe have 30k on it.

Yep. Have the UPR on my 24. Maybe 1oz of oil in it every 5k miles.

They do catch stuff, for sure. How much it will end up effecting our engines, no idea yet.

Ditto here. That's a lot of gunk that you won't be sending through your intake....

The 2025+ 2.3 MPC engine has both direct and port injection, so the benefit of a catch can is less since the port injectors keep the intake clean. OP has a 2024, so not sure about whether the old Mazda engine has port injection.

The ‘19 thru ‘24 2.3 uses direct injection.

And that's 1oz of condensed crankcase vapours that isn't coating the inside of your intercooler.
It's not just about preventing/slowing deposits on the intake valves. There are other benefits that some aren't aware of.

Hopefully we are all still on this forum in 10+ years as I keep my cars for a very long time. Last long term car was my 2002 bigeye I had for a about 15+years finally sold it with 216k miles.

Just my view...
Catch cans collect some oil but is a restriction to the engineered design of the PCV. What oil it collects does not affect the IVD. Especially a forced air and dual injector engine.
Mazda Skyactiv engines use intake valves heated above 400 degrees, a air/oil separator before the PCV and a air intake with the PCV valve way below the intake valves, making the intake a catch can.
