Anyone else find this strap annoying when you put the back seat down? Would love to remove it without sissors 😁

Ugh. Was literally packing up some gear for a camping trip, folded the seat back down for the first and was totally annoyed by that seat belt. Heavy objects hold it down easily but still annoying.

Easy solution. I had a flat steel strap in my scrap bin and drilled and bent it to shape. When you lower the seat back just tuck the seat belt behind the strap.

Can you post some more pix? I get what your saying but cannot figure out how your doing it

I can take more photos tomorrow, but here is the original photo turned. I removed the two screws from the right and attached the steel strap. When you fold down the seat back, just pull the seat belt low to the rear and slide it behind the bar.

I am wondering if an aftermarket clip-in style center belt would work. There's basically two buckles for the center belt (BMW & Toyota, and I am sure others do this):
- One to attached the shoulder portion of the belt
- the other "standard" option for the lap portion of the belt

2023 Expedition 3rd row center belt has the above functionality. I will look into whether or not they're compatible.

I'm sure you know, but make sure to protect the belt from abrasion or sharp edges on that metal strap.

Here is another photo showing the strap holding the seatbelt in position. Hope this helps.

Wow, great! Any issue leaving belt permanently in bracket when seat up? I'll have zero need for the center belt. OK to leave it in your bracket full time so no need to fiddle when put seat up/down?

thanks!

Thanks, I just made this so have no real experience using it. I think it would be OK to leave the belt in this position as long as there were no sharp edges on the metal strap that might wear or fray the belt itself .
