Dealer FP Tune installed. Box never opened

Had the tune installed today at the dealer on my 26 RR. Noticed when I went to put the receipt in the box the factory seal (tape) had never been opened. Only a 1"X1" knockout had been removed to access the top of the tuner where there is a plug in port. Thought they would have to at least open it to get the voucher number? I did plug in the tuner to the OBD and verify the tune was installed. And yes, I'm 100% sure the shipping box was never opened. Only accessed at the knockout in the box.

That port isn't even the one for tuning, that's just to get it set up on your computer. Plus you need to use the touchscreen to scroll through the menu to tune it, something doesn't add up.

had my procal tune installed a week ago and they do need to access the box to get to the voucher and to install the tune from the touchscreen. I also was charged one hour service for the 20 minute procedure but in order to get the 3yr/36K mile warranty it had to be done at a ford dealer or by a ASE/Red Seal certified technician

I mentioned that to my dealer service advisor and they stated it did not have to be a windows computer. I them proceeded to advise them that their instructions needed to be revised to indicate such. I did not test their info since I had both a windows and Mac laptop.

Just as a follow up, I didn't even download the tune to a computer. I just set up the account with Ford performance and gave the service tech my account and password along with the unopened box with the procal tune. The account was at the voucher entry screen, that is where they started and ultimately completed the install of the tune.

Correct, just the labor charge of 1 hour. You can purchase the Ford Performance tune online from several different retailers, I bought mine from Tire Rack for $679 with free shipping. Ford Performance is $850 and local dealer quoted me $800. They are all exactly the same, I just searched by the part number - M-9603-REB30

Follow up. As was stated dealer never opened the box. Thought they needed to for the voucher number. When I plugged the tuner into the OBD port I found this. Based on forum research I'm under the impression it has the tune installed based on the 'FP' in the sequence. Is that a correct assumption?Only driving 8 miles home so can't comment on if it's noticeable yet.

Are you positive they didn't open the box? That USB port isn't where the OBD cable plugs in, so they either used a special Ford tool (in which case why do we even need to buy hardware?) or they somehow unpeeled the tape without breaking it. Not sure if that is possible; I don't remember if mine had security tape or not.

Just curious, you can download the software to a Mac ?

I was told a year ago it had to be a computer running Windows
