Always looking for more light ESPECIALLY when we're backing up, I decided to get a set of @Diode Dynamics Sport with a combo (Flood & Spot) lens. So after a little measuring and cutting, and help from my 3D printer, I installed these lights. About to storm, but I will do the wiring shortly.
Remove the plate and cover the entire panel with Painters tape to mark and protect.
Placed my templates evenly around the plate and cut my holes. There is a thin piece of metal on the top, so unless you're prepared to cut it (I was) lower the lights. 7/8" from the bottom.
I cut my holes by using a drill to cut the corners and used a plunge cutter on my Milwaukee Multi-Tool, I cut the metal strip with a jig saw.
I did lower the spare to get to the hardware very easily. I also used longer stainless steel screws to account for the wedges I 3d printed to make them level(ish). I found that one wedge wasn't enough and two fit the bill properly. I was going to print two larger ones but the print time went from 2 hours to five so I just kept printing them and doubled them up.
