Installed Eibach's kit last weekend. I have the 24' 2.3 XLT.

It was a little tricky for a mechanically challenged person like myself, but it was worth it.

Makes the truck a little less wobbly, side to side.

I did lower the fronts 1/4 - 1/2 inch. Not hard to do. 265/70 Falken Rubitreks going on in a week.

How much factory rake did your 2.3l come with and how much did it this kit lift it? Measuring my 2.7l it looks like I only have 2 inch rake.

Had about a 3 inch difference.
Originally bought 1 1/2 inch spacers from truxx. Think those would look nice, leave a little rake. Might lower my fronts a little more.

Agree, 1 1/2" level is the happy medium. That will leave you with some rake and the axle shafts will last longer.

What eibach shocks are they? Stage 1 or 2. How's the ride can you describe the difference
JRRANGER
I'm waiting for the eibach stage 2R.

It's described as stage 2. Not even sure what that means, but I like how they feel. Some people describe them as in between bilsteins and stock. Best in town example I can give is turning out of an alley to a street- small dip.

With the stock shocks there was noticeable side to side "wobble". With these, I don't notice anything. More stable?
Haven't taken a ride off pavement yet, waiting for tires and alignment.

Let me know how they are over bumps. I'm looking for a smoother ride .
Thanks for the response

Aftermarket springs and dampers will never be smoother. They might maintain composure better with a firmer ride.

Chalk test your tires and run them as low as you can get away with.

Agree with rb205. The stock shocks are cushier, but not by a ton. In my experience having a topper or any extra weight in the back made the ride better. I'm guessing the eibachs will improve the handling on rougher gravel roads for example. TBD
For what it's worth, I bought the eibachs 75% for the adjustable ride height up front, 25% for slightly stiffer ride.

You mentioned the install was tricky, what about it was tricky? Are you considering changing the upper control arms as well?

The only tricky part for me was getting the stock shocks out. Specifically, the bottom 2 bolts didn't come out with a hammer. Or putting a floor jack under them. The instructions did mention they might need to be heated up. I don't have a torch so I used a grinder and a recip saw to cut the bolts and/or the tabs they go through. Kinda stunk wrecking them, but I was kinda committed. Like I said though, I'm far from being a real wrencher.
I actually lowered the height of the eibachs a little. They didn't specifically recommend upper control arms unless you go higher than the way they send them. (Level)
Hope this helps.

That was very helpful. I've been back and forth on ordering these for various reasons, one being my mechanical skills are...limited.

Thank you!

As for the new shocks, the biggest change I can report is how they eat up washboard/pothole dirt roads. Not nearly as jarring.
On the road did you feel any difference.

Not a ton of difference on pavement. Not as floaty I suppose. I've heard other people use the word "planted" before. Might not be everyone's cup of tea though. The cushier ride was nice, but not what I wanted overall.
