So my brother told me about Engineering Test Mode in his 2026 Maverick and how to get it. It works on the Ranger too. Start the vehicle like normal and also hold down the OK button. After it starts release the OK button. In a few seconds it pops up on the screen

I only scrolled through a few but didn't touch anything.

Has anybody played with this.

i think that is where you can adjust the percentage on the gas gage so you can get it closer to real life.

Not sure I have a use for it, but I'll try in my 26RR when I leave work today

I recall seeing something about shifting into N, holding the Manual button, then turning on aux power? But that doesn't jive with other videos about "every Ford since the beginning of screens" using the same method

It does work. Hold OK down and push the start button without your foot on the pedal. You'll see engineering mode after a few seconds but you have to clear out the warning alerts.

It works. I've used it to change my truck's displayed MPG to be more in tune with my hand calculated MPG.

You didn't mention the foot off the brake.....

just dropped mine at the dealer for the recalls and an oil change. I am curious about the fuel gauge mentioned, my gauge is way off, first half is 7 gallons 2nd half is 13-14, needs some attention and the dealer looked at me like I was nuts......it effects the MPG I'd imagine.

You must be talking about someone else because i only mentioned the way it works. And it does nothing to the fuel gauge. It only allows you to make the DTE mileage more accurate. If you're having issues with the fuel gauge you might have a sender issue.

Thanks for mentioning this, I've always been annoyed that the display constantly shows .5 better mpg than hand-calculated.
I went in and adjusted the AFE Bias (Average Fuel Economy Bias) to hopefully get it closer.

i think when i did mine last year, i adjusted the bias to something like 93% and it made it a lot closer. still not perfect but better than it was. i may got back in and try 90%

Yea the stock programming is pretty optimistic. Mine would often read between 0.5 to sometimes over 1.25 mpg too high before I adjusted it.

0.5- 1.25 MPG off isn't that much. I'd be upset if it said 23 MPG if it was actually 17 MPG.

When it says you got 390 miles on the tank and you only got 350 that's only 11% which is a lot.

It annoys me when it says I'm getting a higher mpg but the hand calculated mpg is lower. If it was going to be off, I'd rather it be the other way around and be pleasantly surprised 😅
