Anyone running extended thread lugs for aftermarket wheels, specifically those with more negative offset (Method +25 in this case)? If doing it for peace of mind, any downside?
The wheel offset does not factor into the lug length, only the wheel design. Unless you are looking at some really off-the-wall unique wheel, almost everything on the market that will fit our trucks is going to work with the stock lugs.
The exception here would be the use of wheel spacers. Most large spacers have their own lugs integrated, but for smaller spacers, longer studs would be needed.
Downside is time, effort, and cost and potentially needing different or open-ended lug nuts to accommodate the extra length
as a note to the above post: if the wheels won't work with stock lug nuts, there will be a note in their listing. i was looking at discount tire yesterday and some wheels did say will not work with stock lug nuts.
