Factory Bed Liner........or not

I ordered my 2025 with the factory bed liner. I still have over a month before my build is scheduled to make changes and I am having second thoughts about the bed liner. I am planning on a fiberglass Leer or A.R.E. topper and thinking I might get a rubber mat for the floor or a Bedrug that covers the floor and the sides. All of that will work with the spray in liner but not sure if I should get it. Another reason, besides the $500, is that it will hold up the build for anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks as I understand once the initial build is complete it gets sent to another yard for the bedliner and could sit there awhile. This is from the Ford dealer general manager who I know personally and he has spent time at the plant.

Should I cancel the liner if I plan on a topper and a cargo mat or Bedrug?

thats your call. i have the bed liner in my 2024 and my son didn't and his bed got scratched and dented the first time we had to put some heavy furniture in it when he was moving to another house. mine didn't get any marks in it

I got the liner and have no regrets. I heard the same stuff about build delays and such, but while I’m sure there was a delay it couldn’t have been more than a day or two. It took longer for the transportation logistics than the spray liner, meaning it sat in a rail yard waiting for the train for about a week or so which is longer than the liner spray took. I’m sure there are plenty of variances, but imho it’s not worth it to me to have made concessions because I couldn’t have waited a few extra days. And if I did skip it, then I’d have wished I’d gotten one or spent more time and effort going to a third party for one.

You do you. I didn't. If I do end up having it spray lined, it will be probably be color matched. It is easy to have it done after purchase.

I didn't for my '21 Lariat Tremor and regretted it. I got it for my '25 and so glad I did. Your use case is a bit different with the topper, so I don't know how that sways things.

Whatever you do on your truck, I'd suggest a spray-in liner.

Pretty much every accessory on the market assumes you have a spray-in.

Did it require a spray in? Probably not.

It didn't seem to add any appreciable time to the build.

mine was dealer ordered dealer stock. they ordered it with the factory spray in. and I was adding a A.R.E. cap. the cx classic comes with the carpet add on for free. and the black carpet really blends it all together. I wouldn't mind getting the carpet mat, but I do use it as a truck, amd the floor mat would get ruined. maybe the rubber mat, when Im in there the bedliner is hard on my psoriasis. on my legs...

But if I ever take the cap off to haul bigger items if not in my trailer, its still there.

also the factory one, all the holes were tapped off, so all the bolt holes didnt get plugged with the liner, I heard a lot of the aftermarket places just spray everything, and dont take the time to tape off. even tho probably the same place that does them for the factory. its a tideyier job of it I heard from a lot of different facebook groups.

my tailgate, had thr access panel removed. sprayed sepperate. even the torx screw holes were blocked off so no bedliner got in them, but the screw heads where sprayed. however my bed tie downs, those ETorx bolts. I had to pick out thr bedliner to take them off for both toolbox mounts. lol

My view is you get the spray-in to protect the box. I use Line-X Premium. Then you get a rubber mat etc. on the bed itself to protect the cargo and your hands and knees from the Line-X, which is rough. I currently use a Ford bed mat I got on sale. A friend has Weathertech on his Line-X and he likes it.

It depends on what you're going to be hauling in your bed. I did a lot of research and chose a Lasfit bed mat and tailgate mat from Amazon - they're two separate items. Perfect fit, easy install and it has a nice texture to it that isn't rough, but will keep things from sliding around. Affordable as well.

I didn't get the factory spray as well, but it depends on your usage.

Yes I want to protect the bed paint, but there are different ways to achieve this and at different price as well.

The only thing I don't like of the spray is the texture, it is quite rough and like sanding paper so delicate stuff can get damaged by scrapping. Yes I want to protect the bed, but more importantly I want my stuff to be better protected than a truck bed...it's a truck. Bed should get scuffed without being alarmed.

And if my needs change or I want a refreshed bed look because it gets too much scratched, then I'll spray it later.

It’s a personal decision but I can attest to the spray in liner delay. I’m awaiting delivery of my 2025 Ranger Raptor. It went into production on 8/5, about 8/11 I got notice of a delay. My salesperson said it was built but the liner delaying it. Yesterday 8/29 I received notice the Raptor was finally done and prepping for delivery the last week of September to Maryland.

I would get spray in liner.

it protects the truck and reduces things sliding around.

I’m not sure what delicate things people are transporting but a moving blanket can be put down

i certainly don’t crawl around on my knees in the bed

if the bed gets wet at all without the liner it can be very slippery when walking on it or the tail gate

the factory spray in liner is nice

what would give me pause about the factory spray in liner is the fact they spray the tie downs,

if you are going to put in accessories that use those holes, I might wait and have the bed sprayed after I received the truck

I’ve had spray in liner done in the past and I thought they did a really nice job.

i think I would be clear about what you expect, as far as masking for your spray in aftermarket liner.
