2,000 miles in and here are my rants. Warning, unpopular opinion follows.

1. No Owner's Manual: I cannot forgive Ford from not supplying or including an option to purchase an owner's manual. The HTML version on the Ford website is riddled with broken links and pages not found. The version on the screen in the vehicle contains broken links and pages not found. Table of contents? Nope. Search function sucks. Worse, you have to sit in your vehicle with the accessory on discharging the battery or sit in your vehicle with it idling. This is fun when it's 90F+ outside. Why is there no PDF version that reads like one complete document where you can scroll through pages? Why do I have to click and click and click and click oops page not found, back up, click and click... Annoying!

2. Seatbelt Warning at Start-up: WHY ... WHY do I have to select Ok after starting to make sure seated passengers are belted up? Is there a way to disable this? I have not found it if so. That OK button on the steering wheel is going to wear out fast!

3. Autostop - Start: The disable function doesn't work. Push the button, the screen says it was disabled by the switch, it works once or twice, then after a few minutes driving, come to a stop, the engine shuts off. Annoying.

4. Ford Spy Vehicle: Like most vehicles today, this is a "connected vehicle". Ford is incredibly cryptic about what is recorded, captured and sent to Ford and their third parties possibly including your insurance company! You can't find this information. A vehicle owner should have to OPT-IN rather than have all of this stuff defaulted on spying on you until you figure out how to turn them off. Do they really turn off? Probably not.

5. Door Code: You can't reset the door code from the screen. Luckily you can do it manually on the door.

6. Connectivity: Updates ...my truck has said no updates since owning. Ok. But how do I know the vehicle has the current update? There's no way to readily figure this out.

7. Cellphone USB/WIFI/AppleCarPlay: Every time I enter the vehicle will it connect or not connect. Sometimes you have to stop, turn off, open the door, lock, unlock, restart and let your phone connect. iPhone user. Then when it does connect, there's no sound. If you were on a phone call when getting into the vehicle, they can hear you, you can't hear them. Selecting Apple Car Play icon from the cellphone list turns on truck's wifi and usb. Why are both required? What's transmitted onto or off your device when using wifi, usb and/or connected with a cable. We don't know. They're never going to tell us.

8. The Brake Pedal: The clearance between the brake pedal and the dash is inadequate. My foot touches the bottom of the dash when my foot is on the pedal. Transitioning from the gas pedal to the brake pedal is impeded by the dash. Size 12 shoe.

9. If you plug in a device that needs charging, you get constant "This USB device will charge only" messages. Over and over.

10. Off-road and locker functions are embedded in the screen. We knew it. It still sucks!

11. Sport Mode: Seems sluggish on throttle response, too much turbo lag and holds gear at high RPM before switching gears.

12. Audio Glitch ... if you have music playing and someone touches the screen, sometimes there's an electronic buzz interruption in the audio.

There's probably more I just can't think of them right now.

200 miles into my experience and I already agree with most of this. Primarily, the seatbelt warning is incredibly stupid, and Apple CarPlay seems to have issues. Iā€˜ve actually found that the auto start/stop is not intrusive at all compared to older vehicles that I’ve driven with it. Iā€˜m going to continue to live with it and see if it becomes too annoying. There’s a $99 easy ā€œfixā€ available from 4D Tech if it really drives me nuts… I am also a size 12 shoe, and have not had issues with the brake peddle, but it looks like you really lay into the break where as I just use the end of my foot.

The audio interference buzz is quite annoying.

So far my CarPlay connects all the time but I lose audio often when I stop for gas etc. Visually apps still display. Airplane mode on and off has resolved that for me so far. I did plug into USB-C and was able to charge without any prompts (genuine Apple USB-C to lightning cable).

I’m only wearing 11.5 shoes and use the ball of my foot and haven’t had any clearance issues.

Agree on the privacy stuff, but know it’s already being tracked and shared from my phone so I just accept it.

My Dude, you dont need that much foot on the pedal lol. I have a size 15 foot and never in any vehicle has there been an issue. You need to choke back a bit or change shows (you have some chonkers on).

Brother if you think apple isnt recording everything you are doing, along with google, along with every website, along with your service provider, I have news for you. Loosen the tin foil hat. I agree its annoying constantly having data collected but, its life in the modern age. Ford is probably looking to see how many times people draw big dongs on the sketch app honestly.

Id suggest trying to upgrade your usb cord and see if it goes away. If you arent using a quality brand, that could be because of loose connection or bad cable.

Who operates the brake pedal from the center of their foot lol ? The seat belt chime can be turned off, buy a paper manual on ebay and then bitch about having to.

One of the more aggregious apps is the MyRadar app. You have to opt-out of tracking and selling of data to 3rd parties.

Interesting I just told my friend about the braking issue. I looked underneath and there is a dam air bag there where my feet catch when going from the gas to the brake. I have a size 11 foot and have to be mindful not to snag the top of my foot. Since this is an airbag, I highly doubt dealership or Ford will do anything about it.

Bro, quit hitting the brakes with your heel…
I use my toes. The picture was to show the clearance between the pedal and the bottom of the dash is the height of my shoe. Workboots, forget it. I cannot transition from the gas pedal to the brake without getting caught on the bottom of the dash. I've never seen this in any other vehicle, even tight sports cars.

Anyhow, so far I'm loving the truck but these issues really make it hard to like Ford.
