Glove box soft open damper

Hello everyone, I only understood half of this video I found on YouTube, but if you’re interested, my local dealer told me this is a VW sourced part. P/N F5G1858309 for all next-gen global Rangers. AliExpress sells these for cheap, so I decided to give it a try and I'm quite happy with it. It might be a minor change, but it adds a "luxurious feel" that my F150 had when I opened the glovebox ?

Will it always open slowly with this part or can you assist a normal speed opening with your hand?

It's cool and I want it (tickles that part of the brain) but I also keep items in the glove box that I'd like to be able to access quickly if needed.

I did a search and one of the results was at WalMart.com. Here's the link

Putting 5G1858309 in the search bar brings up quite a few results. It is a VW part apparently.
