Just ordered! Even my base 2015 Subaru had a nice dampered glove box.

They are pretty slow. I installed one (it was like $8 when I got it) and it works, but it is a bit slower than I'd like. It can be pulled down faster if needed. I don't open the glovebox often.

Like everybody else, it was excruciatingly slow.

So I pulled it out, and ran some of my AR lube on the teeth and the gear - you can see it inside if you take a look. My AR lube is basically 50/50 motor oil and brake lube.

I then pulled the dampener back and forth in my hand about 40 times

Re installed and now it works perfectly! Goldilocks: not too slow, not too fast.

I mean, I don't plan on putting anything else in my glovebox. I put the same items in before I did the grease and work job, and it opened like all you guys' did: really slowly.
