Just an update. I got an email from Fabulous Fabrications yesterday that they now offer the resonator deletes with slip joins instead of weld on vbands. I switched my order to the slip join version since it isn’t shipping till next week. Hopefully I don’t regret this decision and they don’t leak from the slip join. I guess worst case I take it to a muffler shop and they grind the powder coat off the end and weld it on. We will see, I’ll update when they are installed.

Installed the resonator deletes today! Took about 2 hrs. I bought the version with the slip joins. Beware, unless you use an impact you will never get them tight enough to not leak. Got everything nice and sealed and symmetrical. Watching the YouTube Q&A on these from Fabulous Fabrications they said no noticeable sound difference except in Baja. They definitely sound deeper and throatier. Just a little in normal, and definitely better in sport. Baddass in Baja. Pictures attached.

Well, I used my RYOBI impact gun with a 15mm deep impact socket on the max setting and torqued them till I was afraid to let it go anymore. Way over 100 ft lbs. The only thing I don’t like is you can see the slip joins, they aren’t really hidden by the rear tire. At some point I’ll have to put some high temp black spray paint on them to hide them, stands out next to the black powder coat.

Well, after about a week with these I’m finding them to have too much constant drone for my liking, in every mode. Getting a bit exhausting, the novelty is wearing off. They look great, but I’m going to take the truck to a shop and see if it’s possible to weld back in the resonators further back so I can keep them on, but not have the noise. It’s fine when I give it some gas or at idle, but it’s getting to be too much for everything else in between. Don’t know the science of everything, if doing that’s going to cause issues. Hopefully not.

Sorry to hear about the drone, I know that can wear you out. Keep us posted after the Reso’s get put back on. Appreciate the updates!

Update. I had a performance exhaust shop weld the resonator deletes on today. They went ahead and painted the pipes behind the deletes black as well which was awesome. Sound better, and they are super secure now. I haven’t noticed any drone, sound like they should and look great!

Ill be installing mine tomorrow. Are you saying that somehow welding them reduced the drone? Im debating just welding mine on from the start.

Yes. Welding them on made them sound much better. Maybe there was some reverberation being caused by the slip joins, not really sure. They sound good now though.

I highly recommend the V Bands. Muffler shop charged me $100 to install.

Too late for me but hopefully others will see this before buying. If I knew i was going to have to cut and weld anywayss I would've just gotten the v bands, but thats on me for not researching enough before purchasing.

$600-900 dollars for exhaust tips? 😅 How the hell do they come up with a ridiculous price like that? They're exhaust tips. Sorry, I cannot see any justification in charging that kind of price for something that probably costs maybe 200 at most to make. Probably less...and that's being generous. Don't mean to offend anybody who bought them, but man.. I can think of a lot better ways to spend that kind of money.
