I'm having the exaxt same issue with the hood along with other things. I'm at the service department at my dealership now to drop my truck off.
Hi Ben! I can look into your Ranger's hood concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your Ranger's VIN?

You can adjust the latch without taking the grill off. Not super easy but doable. I used a small 1/4 inch ratchet. Left side bolt needs a small extension, right side just the socket. Loosened and then lifter latch maybe 1/4inch up then tighten.

Sorry, but to clarify, when you say lift the latch do you mean move it towards the rear of the truck or pull it towards the front?

I had the same problem with my new RR the first time I opened the hood. After spending a lot of futile time with the owners manual, etc. I noticed that there are two rubber spacers on the underside of the hood. These contact the front of the engine compartment when the hood is closed to maintain a tension. I found out that they screw in and out. I screwed mine in a few turns to shorten then a bit and my hood now closes without any issue.

i tried this. loosened the two 8mm bolts on the front of the latch, but couldn’t get it to move up more than 1/32. screwing the stoppers in made a difference, tho.

I did the same a couple days ago and just screwing in the rubber spaces fixed my problem completely. I wish all things were so easy.

I tried slamming pretty hard, to the point I was comfortable with, but still no secondary latch. Same problem with the doors. Pretty brutal quality control at Ford.
I have to slam my hood and my doors. But they latch after slamming lol.

I know this has already been suggested to you several times but it works;
Look at the two bumpers on the hood first before adjusting anything with the latch.

They may be to turned out to far for the hood and also the radiator shroud. They‘re opposing bumpers. I found adjusting them down a turn at a time, then closing the hood each, until it latched properly solved the issue.👍🇺🇸

Bought RR few days ago. When I got home I opened the hood and had hard time closing like everyone one else mentioned. I just walked outside and adjusted the rubber bumpers and hood closes like a normal hood now. Thanks for the info everyone.

Thank you! Same issue in my non Raptor Lariat. One full turn on each of the bump stops now the hood closes like normal!

Be careful that your hood isn't striking the headlight when you close the hood after adjusting the rubber bumpers. I adjusted the bumpers to the point where the hood would close, but it is now touching/hitting the driver's side headlight housing ever so slightly.
